Katie Stephens led the way for the Monarchs with 20 kills.
With the fourth set tied at 21 apiece, Papillion used a Millard North hitting error and an ace block from Jessica Peters to build a 23-21. A kill by Sara Kneifl on match point ended it for Papillion-LaVista. The Monarchs improve to 27-10 and will face Millard West in a semifinal match at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Millard West wasted little time in proving it is the team to beat in the Class A field of the state volleyball tournament in Grand Island Thursday morning.
The Wildcats, 35-2, defeated Grand Island 25-10, 25-16, 25-18 to advance to tomorrow morning’s semifinals. The Islanders end their season 22-14.
Millard West used a 14-1 run in the first set to break a 6-6 tie and set the early tone.
Alexis Anderson led Millard West with 10 kills in the match and Kamesha Young added nine. Sydney Yong had 10 digs and Tiffany Wentworth 25 assists. For Grand Island, Sarah Splattstoessser and Ashton Riedy each had five kills and McKenzie Fyfe had 22 assists.
