Hastings St. Cecilia, the top seed, improved to 27-8 on the season with a 25-14, 15-19, 25-11 victory over Palmyra in today’s semifinal. Freeman, 27-5 and the #2 seed, reached the championship match with a 21-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 victory over West Point Guardian Angels CC today.
The two teams have not played this season.
In the Hastings St. Cecilia victory, Morgan Nikkila had 17 kills for the Hawkettes while Elizabeth Sheehy had nine kills and Shanda Farmer added 18 digs. Clare Hamburger finished the match with six kills, four service aces, 11 digs and 29 assists for St. Cecilia.
Palmyra, which dropped to 26-6, was led by Kourtney Kempkes with eight kills and Klaire Phillips who had eight kills and eight digs. Caitlin Peterson had 21 digs and Shelby Bruss finished with 21 assists.
Freeman got 14 kills, 18 digs and 3 blocks from Carley Remmers in its win over GACC while Marrissa Haynes added nine kills and Riley Dorn had 27 assists.
Krista Fischer led West Point GACC with 12 kills and two blocks while Gabby Knobbe had eight kills and Jamie Petz finished with 34 assists.
