Wahoo setter set to break records this season: Kinsley Tingelhoff
The Wahoo Warriors are off to a 4-0 start to the season after topping Omaha Concordia in the championship of their home invitational on Saturday. Ranked #3 in preseason class C-1, the Warriors are led offensively by the #33 ranked player in the class of 2018, setter, Kinsley Tingelhoff.
The senior has been the starting setter for Wahoo since her high school debut as a freshman. Fast forward 3 years and Tingelhoff is closing in on the class C-1 career assist record set by Ord’s Morgan Alexander. The record stands at 3,329 assists and Tingelhoff has 2,932 after this weekend’s tournament. When asked about the potential breaking of the record, Tingelhoff said,
“I try not to pay much attention to my individual stats . . . Obtaining the record would mean a lot to me because it would be a testament to all of my teammates who I have been fortunate enough to play with and the coaches who have trusted me to be the setter for our team.”
The talented setter feels her leadership and experience are a few of the assets she brings to the highly competitive team. She has challenged herself to improve in the area of communication on the court, which has led her to become a more effective leader for her team. When asked what it is that sets the Wahoo Warriors apart from other contenders in C-1, Tingelhoff said,

According to Tingelhoff, the best part of playing volleyball is the relationships that are created with girls that are working toward a common goal. However, the lights-out plays that are followed by big celebrations are a close second. Tingelhoff aspires to play at the next level, but isn’t sure where that will be at this point. She said,
“I am hoping to find a school that has coaches who will help me grow as a person as well as a player, wants to compete for championships, and will help educate me in the sport of volleyball.”
Coaching may also be in the future after her playing days are over as Tingelhoff values the lessons that have come throughout her volleyball journey and from various coaches. When asked what game she is looking forward to most this season, Kinsley replied,
“The next one.”
This senior season is one of value for the setter and though she hopes to still be playing on November 11th, every game is important in her last shot at a championship in her high school volleyball career. The savvy and court maturity Tingelhoff possesses will likely drive her to hold a class C-1 record, but could it slingshot her team to the top on the last day of the season? Don’t doubt the Warriors!
