We’ve updated the Class of 2018 rankings now that their senior years of high school – and club volleyball – are over. Each day we will release more rankings until we get to the top.
For now, here is the player that finished #8. Congrats and best of luck in the future! Thanks for all you did to make high school volleyball in Nebraska so amazing!
Maddie Wiedenfeld, 6’2, MH, Omaha Marian (Nebraska Elite) – committed to New Hampshire
Wiedenfeld has easily been one of the most under appreciated superstars in Nebraska high school volleyball the past two years. With Division I weapons all over the court, Wiedenfeld silently had an outstanding career as one of the most effective middles in the state.
Her senior season, Wiedenfeld hit an amazing .402 while finishing with 200 kills, 27 ace serves and 76 solo blocks.
For her career Wiedenfeld finished with 382 kills, 199 solo blocks and 31 ace serves. She was an absolute steal for the University of New Hampshire, and you can tell they know it.
“We were very impressed with Maddie from the first time we saw her and knew we wanted to add her to our program,” Jill Hirschinger said. “She brings strength and size and can contribute in the middle or on the right side. Maddie plays on one of the top-ranked teams in the country for high school and a terrific club program. We’re looking forward to having Maddie and her family as part of our family.”
