Western Christian
As last year’s Class 2A State runner-ups, the Wolfpack volleyball team will be returning several faces from the successful 2017 season. With a 6-0 conference record, Western Christian, coached by Tammi Veerbeek, captured the Lakes Conference Championship.
Olivia Granstra Olivia Granstra 5'7" Western Christian | 2020 State IA , an uncommitted junior will be returning as the setter this fall. The 2017 1st Team All-Conference Selection finished the season with 651 assists and 270 digs.
Madison Hofman will be entering her senior season with the Wolfpack program this fall. The 1st team all-conference selection capped off last season with 130 kills and 348 digs.
LeMars
The Bulldogs came in second in conference last year with a 4-2 record. Coached by Susan Irwin, LeMars will have young talent returning this fall.
Jecenta Sargisson Jecenta Sargisson OH Le Mars | 2020 State IA , an uncommitted right-side, will be entering her third season with the Bulldogs program. The 2017 1st Team All-Conference Selection is expected to lead her team in kills again this season after racking up 241 in 2017.
Junior setter, Brooke Haage, was a Lake Conference 2nd Team Selection last year. With 621 assists last year, her experience will be valuable in leading the Bulldogs to another successful season.
Pypr Stoeffler Pypr Stoeffler OH LeMars | 2021 State IA , a sophomore that was named as a conference honorable mention last year will also be returning for the Bulldogs. The uncommitted outside hitter was second on the team last year as a freshman in kills with 186 and also racked up 216 digs.
Cherokee
Coached by Will Baumann, the Cherokee Braves took third in the Lakes Conference last year, posting a 4-2 record.
Kassidy Pingel led the team in kills last season with 247. Pingel, an uncommitted senior, was recognized as a 1st Team All-Conference selection.
Senior setter, Lily Anderson, will return to lead the Braves’ lethal offense this fall. The first-team all-conference selection totaled 774 assists last season.
Young talent features JeMae Nichols, who will be entering her sophomore season this fall. As a freshman, Nichols recorded 163 kills and was tabbed on the honorable mention All-Conference Team.
