Minnesota high schools started practice this past week and with that came the verbal commit of Caitlin Ogdahl, a Class of 2019 recruit to Missouri Western and Skylar Gray, a Class of 2021 recruit staying close to home to play for the University of Minnesota.
I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my education and play volleyball at the University of Minnesota! I want to thank all my coaches, family, friends, & teammates who have supported and helped me make my dream become a reality! Can’t wait to be a Gopher! pic.twitter.com/dcWGflp2cv

Gray is one of the top 2021 recruits in the state from Maple Grove, while playing her club volleyball at MN Select. I was able first see Gray play live at the Milwaukee JVA Jamboree in February where Select went on to win the title with close matches over Milwaukee Sting 15 Black and Wisconsin Volleyball Academy 15 Black.
I wasn’t even on Gray’s court when I first took notice as the 5’10 outside hitter flew on her approach for a rocket swing, easy to gravitate to see who this player was. One of the hardest hitters for a 15s player I saw this past club season. She really is lightning in a bottle. The soon to be Sophomore at Maple Grove had over 200 kills as a Freshman and will continue to rise in the ranks of not only the top of 2021 in the state, but in the country. Her high volleyball IQ allows her to play at the pin, but could also be a solid collegiate DS/libero providing a lethal swing out of the backcourt.
A Huge Congratulations to 2019 OH, @caitlinogdahl, on her verbal commitment to continue her education and volleyball career at @MWSUvolleyball — We are So Proud of You!!! pic.twitter.com/mZZRHCyGcs

Ogdahl is a 5’9 outside hitter from Willmar High School and was part of a stacked Kandi Elite team which will have plenty more college commits to come from their 17s team that will be entering their Senior year.
Missouri Western, or as the locals call it “MO West” is in St. Joseph, Missouri just under an hour North of Kansas City made it to the NCAA Tournament last year knocking off conference rival Nebraska-Kearney. The Griffons lost in the second round to eventual champion Concordia-St. Paul. They are a preseason pick to finish second in the MIAA.
