Brianna Highum 6’0 MH | Waseca | 2019 and Lexi Herman 5’11 OH | Waseca | 2019
The Waseca pair produced an identical 14 kills apiece to help Waseca register a 3-1 over Fairmont. The Bluejays defeated the Cardinals by scores of 25-17, 21-25, 25-12, 25-20. Herman is a 2017 Big South Conference honorable mention selection. Waseca is currently 1-4 on the season.
Rachel Hefta 5’11 OH/MH | Crookston | 2019
In spite of Crookston’s loss to Norman County East/Ulen-Hitterdal Titans, Hefta provided a bright spot with her line of 14 kills, 3 aces, and 2 blocks. Hefta returns for her senior campaign after garnering Polar South all-conference honors in 2017.
Hope Schjenken 5’11 MH | Deer River | 2019
Deer River defeated North Woods (3-2) by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 15-10. Schjenken led the effort tallying 19 kills to go along with 7 blocks. The 2017 Iron Range all-conference selection is also a UM-Duluth commit.
Alyvia Eide 5’4 DS | Rushford-Peterson | 2021 and Jaelyn Connaughty 5’5 S | Rushford-Peterson | 2019
The respective efforts of Eide and Connaughty helped guide Rushford-Peterson to a 3-1 victory handing Houston (7-2) just their second loss on the season. The Trojans (6-5) won by set scores of 25-19, 20-25, 25-23, 25-21. Eide disrupted the Houston attack by collecting 25 digs overall while Connaughty contributed a well-rounded performance with 13 assists, 9 kills, and 9 aces.
Elizabeth Wolkow 5’5 S | New Ulm | 2019
Wolkow dished out 31 assists and collected 9 digs as the New Ulm Eagles earned their first win of the 2018 season. New Ulm defeated Worthington by scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-20. Wolkow and New Ulm advanced to the section 3AA tournament in 2017.
