EASTBAY CHARGER CHALLENGE – September 14th-15th
The Milwaukee Sting Center will host 27 teams this weekend for a 2 day tournament. This will be a tournament that will show us some match-ups we’ve wanted to see for a while. In Pool A you will find a team that creates a bit of a buzz. River Falls is undefeated so far, but what everyone has wanted to see is the Wildcats match up with a field of some of the top teams in the state.
They are definitely finding their groove with Anna Wolf Anna Wolf 6'2" | MB River Falls | 2021 State WI (2021 – Committed to Minnesota) matching a career high 11 kills, Mariah Marg(2019 – 5’3 – Defensive Specialist) recording a career high 12 digs, and Maddi Kealy Maddi Kealy 5'10" | S River Falls | 2020 State WI (2020 – 5’11 – Setter) tallying a career high 39 kills in their 3-1 win over Hudson last week. When Anna rotates out of the front row, Sarah Langlois(2019 – 5’10 – Middle Blocker) steps in and puts up a wall. Langlois recorded a season high 5 blocks in their 3-0 win over Ellsworth this week.
In Pool C you can find a strong Arrowhead that will be looking to redeem a rare loss from last weekend’s Lancer Invite. Before their loss to Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA), Arrowhead was firing on all cylinders to defeat Neenah. Aubrey Hamilton Aubrey Hamilton 6'0" | OH Arrowhead | 2020 State WI (2020 – Committed to Notre Dame) had a season high 20 kills, Katelyn Sesolak(2019 – 6’3 – Middle Blocker/Right Side) had a season high 4 blocks, Emily Larson Emily Larson DS/L Arrowhead | 2020 State WI (2020 – 5’5 – Libero) had a season high 14 digs, and Emma Ruckstadter (2019 – 5’7 – Setter) had a season high 21 assists last weekend when Arrowhead defeated Neenah in the semi-final match.
In Pool E you will find a strong Oconomowoc group that has only two losses, but both are to teams in this tournament (Arrowhead and Mukwonago). Tayler Alden Tayler Alden 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2020 State WI (2020 – Committed to Northern Iowa) recently matched her career high 7 aces in their 3-0 win over Kettle Moraine on Tuesday. I would anticipate the Raccoons are looking to get a second shot at at least one of their two losses. In Pool G you can find the undefeated Waunakee and Summer Schwenn(2019 – 5’4 – Setter) who has been choosing her hitters wisely this past week and tallied a season high 14 assists last week in their 3-0 win over DeForest.

UW-OSHKOSH SHOWDOWN – September 14th-15th
The showdown hosts 27 teams, and a few I would love to see face off, such as Verona and Chilton or Milton and Plymouth. One favorite that will be attending is Catholic Memorial. KENOSHA KRUSH – September 15th
Kenosha Temper (2-4) will be hosting a neat mix of schools this weekend, including Grayslake Central-IL (14-9), Bradford (14-8), Oak Creek (14-5), Watertown (18-3), Luther Prep (9-4), Westosha Central (14-5), and Whitefish Bay (4-8). There are some real competitors here with Watertown, Grayslake Central, and Oak Creek. One favorite to take this tournament is Westosha, who is on a 4-match win streak after losing to both Appleton North and East Troy at the Lancer Invite last weekend.
Westosha’s Laura Shoopman Laura Shoopman 6'2" | OH Westosha Central | 2019 State WI (2019 – Committed to Oral Roberts) hit a season high of 16 kills twice recently, once in their 3-0 win over Waterford last week and again in their 3-0 win over Union Grove on Tuesday.
