We will also have photographers and videographers there to capture the highlights! After working in positionals and competing, there is also a coach’s panel where athletes can learn more about the process. With a little over a week left to register, we currently have 9 of Wisconsin’s top liberos registered and ready for the Expo. Let’s take a quick peek!
Hannah Benes – 2022 – Antioch Community HS
Benes is a top libero prospect in northern Illinois. She is a lefty with a strong cross- court serve and is no stranger to playing up at least two age levels. Benes tracks the ball well and has nice angles to get the ball to the target. She is a strong passer and shows a great deal of excitement when she plays. It should be interesting to see her among some of Wisconsin’s top liberos.
Grace Demetrician Grace Demetrician 5'7" | DS/L Appleton North | 2021 State WI – 2021 – Appleton North
Demetrician moves really well on defense and controls her digs. She isn’t afraid to use her hands and has great reaction time. Demetrician both moves well and is solid in serve-receive.
Sofia Johnson – 2021 – Bay Port HS
Johnson is a solid wing defender. She is quick and good at using her hands on defense to take up more court space. Johnson also moves well to cover her hitters.
Madisen Miller Madisen Miller 5'8" | DS/L Appleton North | 2022 State WI – 2022 – Appleton North HS
Mueller is a gritty libero who didn’t make the varsity squad this season for the Lighting, but she has experience playing with the older kids. She will likely play up on FC Elite’s 16s team this year.
Hope Sholten Hope Sholten 5'5" | DS/L Sheboygan North | 2020 State WI – 2020 – Sheboygan North
Sholten is a fun one to watch, as she is an aggressive defender that throws caution to the wind as she throws herself across the court to keep the ball alive. She moves well laterally as well as forward on defense and does a great job lining herself up around the block. Sholten has positive body language and plays a solid middle back defense.
Shelby Stelzer – 2020 – Bay Port
Stelzer is a strong wing defender. She is solid in serve-receive and great taking the 2nd ball if needed. Stelzer is also good at using her hands and creating good platform angles on defense and in serve-receive.
Katy Stigler – 2021 – Menomonee Falls – Libero
Stigler is in our top 50 in the Class of 2021. She carries a vibrant personality that her team feeds off. She moves really well and appears to fly across the court, but make no mistake, she commands the defense and runs the back court.
[player_tooltip player_id="81255" first="Adriana" last="Studer"]Adriana Studer Adriana Studer DS/L Lake Country Lutheran | 2022 State #187 Nation WI – 2022 – Lake Country Lutheran
Studer just ended her first high school season as a defensive specialist on a state championship team. On any other team she probably would have been the starting libero with her high volleyball IQ and experience. Studer competed with USA High Performance this past summer, and her body language and play shows the confidence she has gained from the experience. Her team also feeds off that energy to push some of the top teams this past fall.
Kourtney Wollner Kourtney Wollner 5'5" | S Kettle Moraine Lutheran | 2021 State WI – 2021 – Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Wollner got her feet wet this fall playing as a defensive specialist. She ended her sophomore season on the big stage in the State Championship match against East Troy.
