The Prep Dig Top 250 FAQ
This is new. This is exciting. This is something that we are planning on doing and continue to improve each time we run an Expo. With something new, there are always going to be questions, some nerves, and kinks to work out. However, we are ready to rock and roll with our inaugural Top 250 Expo series in Omaha and Milwaukee. The timing of these events are very appropriate and will be happening the same time the NCAA Tournament is in full swing!
Here are a few FAQs regarding the Top 250 Expo.
I’m a parent, what do I do while my daughter is competing?
There are plenty of options. This is by no means a closed door event, we will have some of the top athletes in the area and will be a treat for all to watch. At the Milwaukee Sting Center and at The Volleyball Academy in Nebraska there will be an area for parents to hangout away from the courts. At the Milwaukee Sting Center, there are bleachers and a balcony above on one of the courts. We do ask parents to be cognizant of the college coaches that are there to scout and do their job. We also will have cameras set up for highlights through CMM Production Highlights out of Indianapolis and will require that all spectators stay clear of that area.
I’m an athlete, what can I expect?
When you check in, you will receive a an official Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo shirt and a an identifying number to put on your shirt. The shirts will be black and the numbers will stick on to the front and back, with the numbers being larger in the back. These numbers will enable the CMM Production team to tag athletes for video highlights that have been purchased. The numbers will also be provided in the college coaches recruiting packets. We will be taking headshots of all the athletes, writing articles on players, and heavily covering the event via social media. We will have our Prep Dig pop ups and backdrop that you are more than willing to take pictures of your own with teammates and friends.
What skills am I going to be expected to do?
We will breakdown into positionals where athletes will get to showcase their talents, but there will also be plenty of games where athletes may be doing things a little out of their comfort zone (don’t worry middles, we won’t make you be a 5-1 setter, although that does sound fun right?). There may be times where a middle will swing from the pin or someone who has played outside hitter may get a chance to be on the right side.
What about video?
We have CMM Production Highlights coming to shoot video on every court on both sides. This company is based out of Indianapolis and specializes in volleyball video. They will provide 7-10 clips of your best highlights and the turnaround time would be within a week-ten days if not sooner! If you are already registered you can still purchase the video highlight option.
I’m a Senior and I am still looking for a place to play volleyball, are college coaches still looking for recruits in the Class of 2019?
Absolutely! We will have coaches from various levels at our events and yes, they will be taking a look at players who will be graduating this spring. There is always a place for everyone to play, it’s just about finding the right fit as a player and the team finding a fit for you! This is a great way to showcase your skills in front of colleges at all levels and talk with coaches who have an immediate need for next fall.
So why this event?
This event isn’t done after just one day, it is only the beginning. We will be providing heavy exposure via social media during the event, but also writing articles days following the event such as “Top Outside Hitters at the Top 250 Expo”, “Hidden Gems You Need To Know About”, or “All Grit Team; Athletes Who Just Compete”. We look for everything, we value details. Is the school of your choice not there? No problem, send them an article or a post you are mentioned in. This event can improve your ranking or get you on the radar. This also gives our writers a head start heading into the club season as we look forward to building relationships with athletes, families, and coaches.
