Athletes will be able to compete and be seen by college coaches attending, as well as Prep Dig contributors. We will be writing articles about those attending for all our college coach subscribers to read.
We will also have photographers and videographers there to capture the highlights! After working in positionals and competing, there is also a coach’s panel where athletes can learn more about the process. With time almost up, we currently have 10 of Wisconsin’s top available 2022 Outside Hitters registered and ready for the Expo. Let’s take a quick peek!
Cassandra Aslum – 5’8 – Randolph
Aslum isn’t currently on our 2022 watchlist, but I think she’s been flying under the radar. She played in a majority of Randolph’s games this season and helped them achieve a 29-9 record. She contributed 122 kills, 99 digs, and 38 aces while playing with a senior-heavy roster.
Brianna Cantrell Brianna Cantrell OH Appleton North | 2022 State #104 Nation WI – 5’10 – Appleton North
Cantrell earned All-Conference as a pin hitter this fall. She is a solid 6-rotation outside who knows how to find the corners. Cantrell plays heads up and with maturity not commonly found in many freshmen.
Rylie Hahn – 5’8 – Burlington Central (IL)
Hahn was making a big impact this fall as a freshman on her high school team. She made clutch plays in big matches for Central. Hahn plays aggressively and created a spark to propel her team in matches.
[player_tooltip player_id="81252" first="Maleah" last="Howe"]Maleah Howe Maleah Howe OH Oconomowoc | 2022 State #190 Nation WI – 5’8 – Oconomowoc
Howe was a 2018 AAU All-American in the 14 Open division last summer. She competes at a high level on the court and in the sand. Then she helped lead her Oconomowoc team to the Division 1 State Championship. I, for one, can’t wait to see what she does next!
Aspen Jankowski Aspen Jankowski 5'10" | OH Cedarburg | 2022 State WI – 5’9 – Cedarburg
Jankowski played a big part in Cedarburg’s 33-8 season as the impact freshman. She was the #3 punch behind juniors, Kiara Reinhardt Kiara Reinhardt 6'3" | MB Cedarburg | 2020 State WI (Committed to Creighton) and Maddie Barber Maddie Barber 6'1" | MB Cedarburg | 2020 State WI (Committed to Villanova). Jankowski contributed 223 kills, 177 digs, 38 aces, and 22 blocks for a great freshman season.
Karissa Kaminski Karissa Kaminski 5'9" | DS/L Howards Grove | 2022 State #166 Nation WI – 5’8 – Howards Grove
Kaminski is seriously versatile. She took part in Badger Region High Performance this past summer and received All-State honors this fall. Kaminski is solid in serve-receive and can hit a hard line shot, but that is just the start to what she is capable of.
Myka Roethel – 5’9 – Howards Grove
Roethel is on our watchlist along with Kaminski. These two play together in high school and club ball, and they are dangerous. Roethel elevates and can be a dangerous attacker from the front or back rows. She also has a wicked jumpfloat and good serve-receive.
Dorci Walker Dorci Walker OH Columbus Catholic | 2022 State WI – 6’0 – Columbus Catholic
Walker moves like a true athlete. She puts up a huge block, transitions well, and has such a high ceiling. Walker is a new addition to Wisconsin Ice this season and should see a lot tougher competition and exposure, so she won’t be operating under the radar for much longer!
Madelyn Weyda Madelyn Weyda 5'10" | DS/L Germantown | 2022 State WI – 5’8 – Germantown
There is nothing I love more than a hard worker. This kid is the real deal. A year ago she was on Milwaukee Sting’s 14 White team and determined to move up in the ranks. This season she made Milwaukee Sting 15 Gold. In 2017 Weyda was an AAU All-American in the 13 Club division for Sting 13 White. Watch out folks; she will be a force to reckon with!
Stella Zarling – 2022 – Kettle Moraine Lutheran
Zarling took on a lead role for the Chargers’ JV squad this fall. We are looking forward to seeing how she stacks up with some of the other hitters from the 2022 class.
