The 15/16’s Michiana Power League is loaded with talented teams and players. As the first weekend finished up, six teams remained undefeated headed into the 2nd stop in February. MI Elite 16 Elite East ended up with a 6-0 game record, 12-0 set record, and a dominating point differential of 2.4. Unified 16-2 and Team Detroit 16 Red also carried an undefeated match and set record all weekend. To round out the undefeated teams, Team Detroit 15 Red, MI Elite 16 Elite West, and Arsenal 16 Shawn all made it through the weekend without a loss.
Standout Players
Kendyl Andrews S (Arsenal 16 Shawn) – Kendyl is a 2022 setter playing up for Arsenal. She can just set hittable balls. She has a great sense of awareness and knows when and where to set consistently. Kendyl is on our 2022 Watchlist.
Sierra Baron RS (Five1 16 White) – Sierra led by example over the weekend. She led Five1 to a great weekend with some aggressive swings and smart play. Her intangibles are key for Five1.
Jada DiVita OH (MI Elite 16 Elite East) – Jada is a 2022 watchlist player that can hammer the ball. Her attacking ability was displayed all weekend. Her blocking forced opponents to set away her side of the net.
Lindsay Hubler OH (Team Detroit 16 Red) – Lindsay had a great weekend from both sides of the pins. Her jumping ability was on display on every attack. Her consistency and shot selection put her as one of the best attackers in the gym.
Julianna Imbuzeiro MH (Team Detroit 15 Red) – Julianna’s well-rounded game was on full display last weekend. She displayed a quick attack and a suffocating block at the net. At one point, she had 3 blockers in front of her which opened up the outsides for Team D.
Sydney Reed MH (MI Elite 16 Elite West) – Sydney was another middle that stood out last weekend. Her length and quickness in transition will continue to help MI Elite 16 Elite West to contend for the power league championship.
