In 2018, Division 1 volleyball in Michigan was a treat to follow and watch all season.  From the opening week to the last couple matchups in Battle Creek, the largest division in the state lived up to the hype.  

Division 1 Player of the Year - Lindsay Taylor (Rockford)

Our Division 1 Player of the Year was a tough selection.  If we have to go with pure talent on a daily basis, Jess Mruzik from Mercy might be the pick.  If we went with the final weekend performance, Paige Briggs from Lake Orion would be the pick, hands down.  It was Lindsay Taylor, who helped carry her Rockford Rams to another state championship title game. All season, Lindsay played with a chip on her shoulder.  If you take Lindsay off Rockford, I think you can count on Rockford’s season being done in early November. Lindsay finished the year with 751 kills, 386 digs, 68 blocks, and 67 aces.
