Q) What do I look most forward to in 2019?
A) “Next year I look forward to the one of a kind opportunities the Naval Academy will allow me to experience. Also being able to experience another side of America other than small town, not that I don’t love small towns! I am so excited to play with all of the girls next year and get to know them and everything they will be able to teach me from all different aspects of their own lives. A lot of people ask me if I am scared/intimidated for the Naval Academy, but I am the opposite of that, I am 100% ready to rock and roll and take everything in the future on head first.”
Q) Who do I contribute my volleyball success to?
A) “I contribute a lot to my parents for everything they have given me and all of the love and support along the way, I would not have the future ahead of me if it was not for them. I cannot express how lucky I am to have them as parents. I thank God for them daily. As for growing myself as an athlete, physically and mentally, I give credits to Megan Timmins. She was my 16s coach and has been my weight trainer for the past 4 years. She has always held me accountable and never let me settle for less than my best. She has increased my mental and physical strength with her tough love personality, but also with her huge heart. I would not be the athlete I am today without her throughout all of the past years.”
Q) What’s my most favorite thing about club season?
A) “My favorite part of club season is the playing super close games and winning as a team. It is so awesome to see everyone playing together as one and everyone getting extremely hype over someone else’s huge play. The energy of those games are like nothing else. I also love off court with my teammates. Everyone, players and parents, love each other so much, it is like one big family.”
Q) Best team bonding I’ve experienced?
A) “The more interesting team bonding I remember was my 15s year. We played dodge ball with volleyballs and it was painful and hard, but extremely fun. Another team bonding exercise I remember is when our coach read off interesting facts about the players on our team and we had to guess who the fact was about. I learned some cool things and we shared a lot of laughs during that time”.
Q) What is your favorite way to waste time?
A) “My favorite way to waste time would be baking. Whenever I need some time to pass I like to bake some random yummy treat. It is productive but I’m also not sitting on my butt doing nothing.”
