While none of the nominees captured a National Player of the Year honor from PrepVolleyball.com recently, several players from Nebraska were named finalists for the awards, which itself is quite an honor.
PrepVolleyball.com named 45 athletes from across the nation as finalists for its 2018 Senior of the Year Award and two of them were from Nebraska: Creighton recruit Emily Bressman of Omaha Marian and Nebraska recruit Fallon Stutheit of Johnson-Brock.
There were just 43 finalists for the 2018 Junior of the Year Award and Nebraska put an amazing total of four people on that finalist list. Those Nebraskans were: Wichita State recruit Marriah Buss of Lincoln Lutheran, Arkansas State recruit Izzy Lukens of Millard North, Nebraska recruit Kalynn Meyer of Superior and Omaha recruit McKenna Ruch of Millard North.
For the 2018 Sophomore of the Year Award, there were only 35 national finalists with Nebraska producing a whopping five of them! Those honored from Nebraska were: USC recruit Elle Glock of Wahoo, Nebraska recruit Rylee Gray of Elkhorn South, Arizona State recruit Allison Gray of Skutt Catholic, Nebraska recruit Lindsay Krause of Skutt Catholic and Creighton recruit Norah Sis of Papillion-LaVista.
Two players from Nebraska were among the 14 finalists for the 2018 Freshman of the Year Award – Ava LeGrand of Papillion-LaVista South and Mya Larson of Wahoo.
