The Best Benches
FC Elite 16 NavyFC Elite 16 Navy
This team isn’t just loud when their team is doing well. Elite is crazy loud during warm-UPS, while their hitters crush balls. This excitement is sure to get in their opponents’ heads. Like most, they quiet down a bit when their team is somewhat struggling, but it doesn’t take too long and someone is making a big play to get them back up.
Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
The Sting bench gets pretty darn excited when their big swings execute. They are full of fast swings and solid blockers. Their defense behind the block isn’t too shabby either. They have plenty of weapons to make big plays and excite their bench and their crowd.
The Great Teammates
Cora BehnkeCora Behnke – 2021 – 6’1 – Pin Hitter – Oconto – FC Elite 16 Navy
Behnke is that player who will go flying towards the bleachers or a crowd to get the ball that didn’t go where it was meant to. She shows her confidence and trust in her teammates by never giving up, even on the most far gone ball. She is the definition of hustling and hitting and just not quitting!
Hattie Bray – 2021 – 6’2 – Middle Blocker – Wautoma – FC Elite 16 Navy
Bray is not only smiling 90% of the time, but she is also constantly encouraging her teammates. She has huge hops and makes big plays. Bray closes the block and seals the net.
Julia JakuszJulia Jakusz – 2021 – 5’8 – Pin Hitter – Pacelli – Wisconsin Ice 16 Purple
Jakusz gets so excited for her teammates that you can’t help but smile when you hear her cheering them on. She has plenty to get excited about, not only for her team, but for herself as well. She can play either pin and presents a solid block.
The Super Engaged
Kelly Page – 2021 – 5’4 – Setter – Merrill – Wisconsin Ice 16 Purple
Page is always moving with the play of the ball, and just when you think the play is dead, she picks up the long gone ball. She is constantly talking with her teammates while running an offense and getting feedback. Page is a gamer who you will see actively strategizing to find the next best way to score.
Lauren ShieldsLauren Shields – 2020 – 5’6 – Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist – Newman – Wisconsin Ice 17 Purple
Shields is always moving. She is undersized for an outside but has outstanding ball control. Even though she is undersized, she is incredibly good at putting the ball on the floor. Not much gets past Shields, and she is extremely frustrating to her opponents.
Paige Wicklund – 2020 – 5’8 – Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter – Mosinee – Wisconsin Ice 17 Purple
Wicklund is always moving toward the play and staying involved. She communicates effectively and positively while showing a great sense of humor. Wicklund always stays super engaged and finds ways to make big plays.
Saige DamrowSaige Damrow – 2023 – Libero – Howard Grove – FC Elite 16 Navy
If you watched her play, there is no way you would guess she is an 8th grader. Damrow is always moving and talking to her team. She moves extremely well, follows the ball, and never stops looking for what could happen next.
