Columbus Catholic’s Kate Shannon may be a multi-sport athlete who can play multiple positions on the volleyball court, but the libero position is where she hopes to focus when she reaches the Iowa State campus this fall.  Iowa State, nicknamed Libero U, is well known for having outstanding players at the libero position, as a Cyclone has earned the Big 12 Libero of the Year award 9 out of the last 11 seasons.  Shannon, who plays for Six Pack 18s this winter, led Columbus Catholic this fall with 356 digs, 177 assists, and 80 aces and was a 1st Team All-State performer.  We asked her to talk about her decision to choose Iowa State, and how volleyball has helped shape her into the player she is today.
