For some, it may be the end of their club season, and for others, it is just the halfway point. Badger Region is always a special tournament being right in the heart of downtown Milwaukee at the awesome Wisconsin District Center, and for some of these athletes, a yearly tradition over the past 6 years. The 18 Open this year will consist of 12 teams of top notch talent.
Pool A
FC Elite 18 Navy
One Wisconsin 18 Elite
SWVBC G18
FC Elite is the heavy favorite to win this pool, and potentially the whole Open Division.
The matchup between 1W and SWVBC should be a great battle, and SWVBC will be looking to redeem themselves after an earlier season loss to 1W. 1W has had success earlier this season with a 9th place finish in the Club Division at the SPVB Presidents’ Day Challenge and a 9th place finish at the Mizuno Showcase. SWVBC has also had some success this season with a 3rd place finish in the Premier Division at the Adidas President’s Day Spectacular. FC Elite has had a stellar season so far, while winning the JVA MKE Jamboree, a 5th place finish at the Mizuno Showcase, and a 7th place finish at the Ohio Valley 18s Qualifier.
FC Elite is loaded with high level players and here are just some of the big names to check out:

Pool B
Capital 18 Adidas
Midwest Penguins 18-Black
Wisconsin Premier 18Teal
Capital 18 Adidas definitely has the upper hand in this pool after winning the Badger Region Qualifier. The Penguins previously beat Premier, but Premier had an impressive 2nd place finish in the Premier Division at the Adidas President’s Day Spectacular. Their match-up should be a solid battle.

Wisconsin Ice 18 National
RVA G18 Navy
1W has been taking care of business all season, taking 1st place at the Adidas Girls Season Opener, finishing 3rd place at the Badger Region Qualifier, and a 5th place finish at the Mizuno Showcase. Ice is a dark horse in this tournament with a mix of 2019 and 2020 players that are extremely tough. They’ve won both the Wisconsin Ice Season Opener and the Premier Division at the Adidas President’s Day Spectacular. RVA should have some interesting match-ups in the double challenge brackets.

Pool D
One Wisconsin 18 National
Milwaukee Sting 18 Black
Matrix 18 Red
There are a couple darkhorses in this pool with 1W and Sting. Sting will be looking to redeem an earlier loss to 1W, and their match should be one to watch. Both have had some nice tournament finishes, with Sting finishing in 2nd place at the Adidas Girls Season Opener and 1W finishing 2nd place in the American Division at the Ohio Valley 18s Qualifier. But don’t count Matrix out just yet; they’ve had success as well with a 2nd place finish at the Crossfire Tournament at Bethel University.
