Sometimes we forget that the big hitter is nothing without the setter knowing just where her hitter likes the ball. The suave setter can’t run her offense in system without the defense getting her the ball. The gritty libero can’t correctly position without a strong block at the net. Or how about when the stud hitter rotates to the back row and the hitter opposite her turns out to be just as deadly, giving the opposing team no break from being under fire. The list goes on as to how dynamic duos and trios can lead a team to success. Here are some great combos we have in Wisconsin’s current club teams.
Future Resident’s Of Illinois On FC Elite 18 Navy
FC Elite 18 Navy team is fun to watch with so many big committed players. Kayla Kraus (2019 – 5’6 – Libero) is committed to Loyola, while Brooke Mosher (2021 – 5’11 – Setter/Pin Hitter) plays for Waterloo for a couple more years before heading to Illinois State. A first contact is never a problem for Kraus, handling it all with ease. Mosher is a setter who is very dynamic and really can do everything. This team has so many weapons, and when Kraus gets Mosher in system, this squad is really hard to stop.
“Meet Me In The Middle” But Not If You Are Up Against Capital 18 Adidas
Kiana Schmitt (2019 – 6’3 – Middle Blocker – Committed to Creighton) and Sopheea Mink (2019 – 6’1 – Middle Blocker – Committed to High Point) are super physical middle blockers. They are athletic, move quick laterally, and their reach is intimidating for opposing attackers. Their versatility to tip or pound the ball makes them hard to defend. Their next competition will be the JVA World Challenge in Kentucky.
Milwaukee Sting 17 Gold Gives A 1-2 Punch From 2020 Prep Dig Ranks #2 and #3
Kiara Reinhardt (2020 – 6’3 – Middle Blocker – Cedarburg – Committed To Creighton) puts up a big block and has the ability to pound. While teams are trying to contain Reinhardt, Aubrey Hamilton (2020 – 6’0 – Outside Hitter – Arrowhead – Committed To Notre Dame) is getting a one on one or an open net to swing on. Sting has a ton of depth and competes against the nation’s best, and these are a couple of the best!
Nothing Drops on Berezowitz And Kuck
Milwaukee Sting 18 Gold is stacked with two defensive players, Dru Kuck (2019 – 5’8 – Libero – Committed To Kansas State) and Maddie Berezowitz (2019 – 5’7 – Libero – Committed To Kentucky). With Berezowitz and Kuck in the back row, Sting is rarely out of system. Both will be headed to Division 1 schools in the fall as defensive specialists.
The Triple Threat On Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold
There is a scary frontline trio of uncommitted athletes for Sting 16 Gold. There really is no weak rotation for this squad when you see McKenna Wucherer (2022 – 6’1 – Outside Hitter – Brookfield Central – Committed To Minnesota), Katie Winkler (2021 – 6’0 – Right Side Hitter – East Troy), and Kaitlyn Riley (2021 – 6’3 – Middle Blocker – Catholic Memorial). This trio is dynamic, and they are a matchup nightmare. With Winkler playing on the right and with Riley in the middle, there is a 6’0 wall for opposing outside hitters. Wucherer has so many different shots in her tool belt, as well as being a strong defensive player.
