Future Gophers To Compete At NLQ 16 Open
Minnesota hasn’t had to go far to find some of the top recruits in the country and this weekend will be a preview of what will be in store across the river on the campus of the University of Minnesota with multiple commits playing at the Northern Lights Qualifier.
Mckenna Wucherer – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold – Class of 2022 – Outside Hitter
Wucherer committed as an 8th grade which made waves across the country. However, Wucherer as been on the radar as early as a 6th and 7th grader with her involvement in USA and Badger Region High Performance. She has been playing up an age group with this Milwaukee Sting group since she began. Wucherer brings to the table six rotations of power. A 6’1 outside hitter, Wucherer can pass and serve receive into attacking at all angles. She is dangerous down the line and can turn it thumb down to cut a sharp angle.

Emme Bullis – Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold – Class of 2021 – Setter
Bullis has come on extremely strong this club season leading Sting to a 16 Open bid to nationals with their third place finish at MEQ. A quick, fast paced, and high energy athlete, Bullis is able to bring a real spark to the court. This weekend has a loaded 16s field and for Sting to make a push into Sunday they will need the likes of Bullis to take control of the offense dishing to a plethora of weapons and even being on the offensive side herself.

Skylar Gray – MN Select 16-1 – Class of 2021 – Outside Hitter
Lightning in a bottle. Skylar Gray, who preps at Maple Grove High School which is a Northwest Suburb of Minneapolis will be the hometown kid for the Gophers. Gray plays with heart, passion, and a pure love of the game and her teammates. She also has a competitive fire that is tough to match and will be such a huge fan favorite when she gets to put on that Gopher jersey for the first time. First, she has some business to take care of with her MN Select team as they compete this weekend and will be a dangerous team to take care of.

Carter Booth – Colorado Juniors 16 Shannon – Class of 2022 – Middle Blocker
That name sure sounds familiar? It should, Carter Booth is the daughter of former Big Ten and NBA player Calvin Booth, who is currently working with the Denver Nuggets. Carter stands at 6’8 and “tall aint all”, Booth is athletic, dynamic, and has the ability to be scary good (which she already is) by the time she gets back to Minnesota. Yes, back to Minnesota as she played for M1 last year living in the Minneapolis Metro before moving out to Denver and is now playing for Colorado Juniors.
Natalie Glenn – TAV 16 Black – Class of 2021 – Pin/DS
The pipeline continues from TAV in the Dallas area up to Minneapolis with Glenn. Gopher soon to be Sophomore and Freshman All American Adanna Rollins was also a member of TAV which is one of the best clubs in the country. Glenn had over 500 kills for her high school team at South Lake Carroll which has produced some of the top athletes in the country in all sports. Glenn will be bringing quite the skillset and some unreal athleticism.
