Continue ReadingYes, The Final Four is in town, but in the volleyball world there are teams who are heading to the Show-Me Qualifier in Kansas City and playing in the backyard of the Final Four with the Molten Series having one final weekend. How is it possible we are in the heart of qualifier season and the Molten Series is finishing? April is always a big month that will end with the Northern Lights Qualifier the final weekend before Division 1 coaches go into quiet period again. Here are some players that could be on the radar this weekend.
Molten Series
Alex Lyle – Kokoro 17-1 – Class of 2020 – Pin Hitter
Lyle can do a little bit of everything for Kokoro. She can play on the outside, the right side, and even set if needed. A really solid all around player who will be a great pick up at the next level. Here Kokoro 17-1 team is well rounded with some top Division 1 commits in Maddie Whittington heading to Illinois as well as Emily Bannit going to Loyola as well as Division 2 recruits Maddi Kealy and Cianna Selbitschka going to Duluth and Lauren Stenman going to Lewis in Illinois. Lyle will have some schools knocking on her door after a solid season where she has been able to showoff a complete overall game.
Lilly Wachholz – High Voltage 17-1 – Class of 2022 – Pin Hitter
Wachholz may just be the best kept secret that needs to be a secret no more in the Class of 2022 in Minnesota. 6’2 nearing 6’3 Wachholz can hit anywhere from the front row. She already has the look of a college player and with continued training she will be a big time pick up at the next level. High Voltage also has Olivia Tjernagel who has committed to Northern Iowa, a perennial NCAA contender. Wachholz definitely looks to be following in the footsteps of Tjernagel with the ability to play at the Division 1 level – remember….she’s from the Class of 2022.
Brooke Weichbrodt – Kokoro 16-1 – Class of 2021 – Setter
Weichbrodt puts up a really nice ball for her hitters to terminate and if needed she can swing on the right side as well. A really gritty athlete who plays with contagious energy, she has been a major part of the Kokoro 16-1 success this year. Jadyn Garrison is also a really solid player on the outside who plays with a spark and a fire to lead this team.
Elizabeth Dille – Kandi Elite 17-1 – Class of 2021 – Outside Hitter
Watching Dille play, you just see flashes of what top outside hitters in the state and even at the college level have. A high hand contact, the ability to play six rotations, and an incredibly huge ceiling Dille has become a big time go to player for Kandi Elite who has developed plenty of college talent the NSIC has welcomed. This Kandi Elite 17’s team has plenty of athletes playing up from the Class of 2021 and is extremely fun to watch and can score from so many positions.
A Match Up To Watch:
MN Select 14-1 vs. Northern Lights 14-1 – These two clubs are always some of the top clubs in the nation who are year in and year out competing for national titles. These two teams are no different. Take a picture of these teams now and see what they look like in five years. Plenty of young talent who have the potential to develop into big time players.

Show-Me Qualifier
Sophie Jesewitz – MN Select 16-1 – Class of 2021 – Pin Hitter
Jesewitz is a 6’3 pin hitter who is touching ten feet. Enough said. However, the progress that Jesewitz has made since the beginning of her high school season has been amazing. Her ability to play on the right or left side as well as her all around game has been a major spark for her MN-Select team. This team is athletic, extremely dynamic in the multiple lineups they can run, and they are heading into Show-Me and Northern Lights at the end of the month where they can knock off some top teams. I’ve seen this team play since they were early in their 15s season and they have really developed into some of the top players in the state.
Allyson Treichel – MVA 16-Elite – Class of 2021 – Middle Blocker
Treichel is a 5’9 middle blocker who is extremely athletic and explosive. With her lateral, quick movements she can close the block and transition quickly to be available offensively. This 16-Elite team has had some big wins this year and will be a sneaky team heading into this weekend. Another athlete to take note of would be outside hitter, Madison Gully. Gully has really solid hand contact and can hit a variety of angles. When MVA is in system they are really crisp in how they can execute their offense.
Erin Lamb – Northern Lights 16-1 – Class of 2021 – Middle Blocker
I first saw Lamb being a six rotation middle for her high school team this past fall, she’s that athletic to have on the court. A springy athlete who can touch ten feet, Lamb is also a top scorer in basketball and would definitely find her way on a Division 1 basketball team as well. She’s already scored 1,000 points in her high school career. However, in volleyball she can get up and terminate before the block has a chance to read. Her versatility will be fun to watch develop throughout the rest of the season.

Skya Favor – MN Select 16-2 – Class of 2021 – Middle Blocker
The MN Select 16-2 has been extremely competitive with some of the top teams in the region which includes gold pool play at Big City Luau and The Showcase in the Wisconsin Dells. Favor is 6’2, athletic, and a presence at the net offensively and defensively. With solid ball control, a handful of players who can play multiple positions, and setter Megan Liu this team will have a chance to make some noise in KC this weekend.
