Taking advantage of these opportunities is a wise decision for anyone looking to improve their game while having fun during the “off season.” Here are three things to consider when choosing a camp:
- Out of Program – Picking a camp put on by another club team or another high school coach is a great idea. They will provide new ideas, new instruction, and a new perspective. It’s exciting to try different drills and games. Also, a fresh perspective is always refreshing.
- Cost – Set a budget for how much you are willing and able to spend. Can you participate in several or one or two. Make it work for your family and situation. The most important thing is to get touches on the ball.
- Work hard – The summer is the perfect time to make improvements to your game. Show your coaches and teammates you are willing to put in energy to becoming a better athlete. Don’t limit yourself to only “volleyball” camps, but get into a strength camp or speed and agility. That way when the high school season begins you will have a head start on conditioning.
