Katie McCabe is young player for MKE 16 Silver. At 6′ this Wauwatosa athlete has an imperious presence at the net. In volleyball coaches often talk about a hitter’s contact point, McCabe is a great jumper and is able to contact the ball far above the net.
Next on their list of towering athletes is Carly Clausen, a 6’2” star on the MKE 17 Black. She has experience as the team’s main middle and is hoping to play college volleyball. Clausen is a natural leader with a kind smile, but a killer swing. Her offense is not limited, she runs a variety of hits from all across the court.
Randi Wellhoefer is one of the youngest on our list (graduating 2021). She is a 6’2” outside/right side from Oshkosh West. Typically the tallest in the gym when competing against fellow 16 year olds. She has improved greatly since joining MKE Stick. The exposure from their vigorous schedule will easily land her a scholarship in the years to come and we think she could even be a great college outside hitter.
Likewise, the 17’s Gold team is unmatched at the net with Elise Goetzinger ( 6’3” Kentucky recruit), Kelsey Carrington (6’3” Oklahoma recruit) and Kiara Reinhardt (6’3” Creighton recruit.) They are an essential part of their club’s success not only in matches but in practice building better teammates. Imagine having to practice against this massive block. It will be fun to watch them on the college stages.
Perhaps one of the best to come is Lizzie Binder from Sheboygan North. She is a strong, 6’2” outside hitter with a surprisingly fast arm swing. Binder a member of the MKE 16 Gold who will graduate in 2021. She is an essential part of her team’s success.
MKE Sting attracts some of the biggest and best players in the state and is turning them into some of the most dominant in the nation. Their tall lineups help them stack up against national competition. The coaches at Sting are great at training these players to become fast, forceful players.
