We’re looking at athletes along I90 give or take where some of their club volleyball has found success for SWMNVB in the Marshall area or SMV out of Rochester. Some athletes will head into Sioux Falls, South Dakota or even La Crosse, WI. These athletes are making an impact at the club and high school level all year round.
Erika Bute – Northern Lights – Alden-Conger – Class of 2019
Committed to Augustana
Bute, who preps at Alden-Conger High School just outside of Albert Lea may be one of the top all around players Southern Minnesota. She can set, be a really solid backrow defender, and can swing when needed as well. With a national title to her resume playing for Northern Lights 17-1, she will take her game to Augustana in South Dakota where they will start their process towards becoming a Division 1 school by the time Bute graduates.
Congratulations to 18 Adidas 2020 DS – Alaina Wolff on her verbal commitment to Wayne State College! #kairosfam @WSCWildcatVB @PrepVolleyball pic.twitter.com/BqYWrBOK8m

Alaina Wolff – Kairos (SD) – Jackson County Central – Class of 2020
Committed to Wayne State
Wolff has been electric from the pin for JCC, but she will make the transition to libero when she heads to Wayne State. A gritty competitor who plays for Kairos out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota for club is already making waves as a libero. Her ability to use her skills as an outside hitter to read the attackers and also see the court as a libero to make calls for her own attackers will really give her even more experience for her Senior year to use her shots and power.
Katelyn Nichols – SWMNVB – Windom – Class of 2020
Autumn Hauge – SWMNVB – Windom – Class of 2021
Nichols and Hauge will be a key duo in Windom’s run in 2019. With valuable experience playing for SWMNVB and with a high finish at Northern Lights they will be heading to Orlando for the AAU national tournament in June. Nichols is coming off an All-Conference selection and will be gearing up for a big Senior season.
Mya Suess – Kasson-Mantorville – Class of 2021
There is still going to be a Suess in the lineup for Kasson-Mantorville. Peyton Suess is graduation this spring and heading to Wake Forest after leading the Komets to a third place finish in Class AA in 2018. Mya is an all around athlete who is also a key contributor on their basketball team. A middle blocker who has the athleticism to get from pin to pin and transition to score will take on a much bigger role to score points this upcoming season.
Emilee Terry – SMV – Kasson-Mantorville – Class of 2020
Committed to Minnesota State-Mankato
Terry can do a little bit of everything being able to swing from the left or right side as well as play defense in the front and backrow. She will be joining high school teammate, Bailey Berge at Minnesota State-Mankato when she completes her high school career. The Komets will lose some important parts to their 2018 team, but the cupboard is far from bare for 2019.
Grace Rohde takes a swing at Badger Region High Performance Camp.Grace Rohde – Winona – V-Hawk Xtreme – Class of 2020
Rohde may be a little bit of a hidden gem in Southeast Minnesota who plays for V-Hawk Xtreme 17 Adidas out of La Crosse. Rohde is a six rotation all around athlete with a big arm. She can score points from either pin and even come through the middle to attack. She teams up with UW-Milwaukee recruit Marissa Kleman for V-Hawk.
Lydia Lange – Caledonia – V-Hawk Xtreme – Class of 2020
Lange can play in the middle or on the pin. She is a go to player for the V-Hawk 18 National team out of La Crosse. Langue was a Class A 1st Team All State player her Junior year for Caledonia who lost in the section semifinals to Mabel-Canton.
Olivia Pennington – Lake City – SMV – Class of 2021
Pennington brings a lot of height and athleticism to the pin for Lake City. She has spent time playing for SMV this club season with some of the top athletes in Southeast Minnesota. Stewartville and Kasson-Mantorville were the two big names out of the Rochester area last season, but Lake City was the section runner-up to K-M. Pennington still has two more seasons left in her high school career.
Jolie Stecher – Stewartville – SMV – Class of 2021
Stewartville has Erin Lamb and Kaitlyn Prondzinski who are the big names with lights out stats and plenty of attention of college coaches with Prondzinksi committing to Illinois State. Stecher will be one to watch for a breakout season in 2019.
