Julia Bishop – Setter – Michigan State: Our top-ranked player of 2021 has opted to join some other top Michigan stars by committing to Michigan State recently. Bishop is a 5-10 setter that is a natural leader on the floor and capable of doing it all. She has been a standout for Division 1 power, Farmington Hills Mercy, while being one of the faces of Michigan Elite’s club over the years and leading 16 Mizuno to a strong club season in 2019. Bishop isn’t the only future Spartan in the class.
Aubrey O’GormanAubrey O’Gorman – Middle Blocker – Michigan State: O’Gorman is our second-ranked player in the class and she is joining Bishop, as well as here 2022 sister Maradith O’Gorman, in East Lansing for the future. O’Gorman stands 6-foot-3, but has the athleticism and quickness of someone much smaller. She has been a dominant part of Lakewood over the last two years and has FaR Out 16 Black among the best 16 teams in the region.
Lydia Harper – Setter – Miami (Ohio): The RedHawks have been aggressively recruiting the state of Michigan in recent years and Harper is their first get for the Class of 2021. The setter from Caledonia and FaR Out 16 Black has been making waves over the last year and is currently sixth in our 2021 rankings. At 6-1, Harper has shown an ability to hit, serve and pass with the best of them, all while being an elite-level setter. Already with seven Michiganders on the Miami roster, the RedHawks are adding a great piece in a couple of years.
Grace Allread – Setter – Liberty: Grace Allread is someone that has helped West Bloomfield’s volleyball program take the next step in recent years and the 5-9 setter has her future committed to Liberty University. Currently with Legacy 16-Elite, Allread has shown great improvement over the last 12 months and she will join a Liberty program that doesn’t have a Michigan player on its current roster.
