This squad is comprised of athletes who are born in the year 2002 or 2003. Prep Dig does not usually cover athletes until they have reached their Freshman year of high school, we have more information on these athletes compared to the Girls Select where some of them have yet to play high school ball.
Take a look at who will be representing Iowa in the Girls Youth International Team at High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale. We will finish up with another breakdown of the Girls Youth National Team as well.
Sydney Beasley – Iowa Rockets – Darlington (WI)
Beasley is one of the top pin hitters in Southwest Wisconsin, playing her club ball for Iowa Rockets which makes her part of the Iowa Region. A top athlete in her class, Beasley will provide a big block and is always an outlet to score.
Caidince Cleveland – Iowa Select – Bettendorf
Athletic and super gritty, Cleveland was a big part of the success in Iowa Select 16 Mizuno this past club season. A rising libero in her class, Cleveland will provide a spark and a solid first contact to get this squad in system.
Corinne Meier – Dubuque Elite Sting – Dubuque Hempstead
Really athletic and physical player, Meier brings a bring arm and aggressive attacking style to the court. She is a hidden gem that needs to no longer be hidden with her power.
Alayna Finucan – Central Iowa Select – Webster City
Finucan comes out of the Class of 2022 and was part of a successful CIS 15M squad that competed in 15 Open at USAV a couple weeks ago. A lot of speed and quickness, she will be a solid option as a libero/DS.
Haleigh Hadley – Iowa Heart – Gilbert
Hadley will be used as a swiss army knife in the front row where she can play any position, which is extremely key at USAV High Performance with a limited number of subs compared to the club and high school game. She would be a solid option for a big block or swing in crunch time.
Chloe Largent – Central Iowa Select – Adair-Casey/Guthrie-Center (Title Photo)
Largent is another rising athlete in multiple sports in the Class of 2022. At HP camp at Coe College, Largent was nursing a bit of a hand injury and was able to stuff block some big hitters with one hand. She is definitely one to keep tabs on throughout her prep and club career.
Pypr Stoeffler – MVP (Sioux City) – Le Mars
Stoeffler brings a lot of experience playing HP before and can be used in the front or backrow. Having an option as an attacker out of the backrow is key and Stoeffler will be a key utility player on this team.
Macy Vanfossan – SWI 3rd Degree – Underwood
With Stoeffler and Vanfossan from the Missouri River area to Meier in Dubuque this team really does cover border to border of Iowa. Vanfossan is a big swing from the outside and will gain great exposure for herself being a part of this team.
Liz Pierce – Central Iowa Select – Southeast Polk
Pierce will be the setter for this squad after a successful season on the Central Iowa Select 17M team. She can dish with a variety of tempos, but is also a really physical at the net as a blocker and attacker. Again, with the HP substitution rules, it makes it tough to run a 6-2 offense, but with Pierce as the setter, she is definite fit to run the show full time.
