The first serves of the 2019 high school volleyball season will take place in less than 48 hours, and there are a handful of great matches on tap for opening night that you should try and get out and attend - if you're still looking for a match to watch.

Here is our breakdown of the eight best places to be on Thursday night.

Class A #2 Elkhorn South at Class A #7 Elkhorn

The battle of Elkhorn used to be a battle among top teams in Class B, but now it's a battle between two of the top teams in Class A. It's also the last year that the battle for Elkhorn will be between just two teams as Elkhorn North is set to join the fray in 2020.

Class A Gretna at Class A #4 Millard North

As I've said all summer, Class A is deep with talented teams and Gretna may not be ranked, but it is definitely a state-tournament caliber team and will be a huge test for the defending Class A champs, you have a lot of holes to fill from last year.
