Without any further delay, here is a look at the players ranked #11 through #25 in the updated Class of 2022 rankings.
#11 – Syd Conner, 5’10, Setter, Kearney Catholic (uncommitted)
Conner split time at setter for the Stars as a freshman but is no ready to run the show at Kearney Catholic. She’s got great natural setting skills and the size and athleticism to play at the net.
#12 – Shayla Meyer, 5’11, OH, Superior (uncommitted)
Meyer is a dynamic athlete that possesses very good explosiveness and ball control that made an impact immediately as a freshman, racking up 230 kills and 250 digs last fall.
#13 – Sydney Raszler, 6’0, MH/RS, Elkhorn (uncommitted)
As a freshman for an Elkhorn team that reached the state tournament and went 21-16, Raszler was tied for second on the team in blocks and fourth in kills with 178.
#14 – Maisie Boesiger, 5’5, Setter/DS, Norris (uncommitted)
Boesiger is one of the more athletic setters and is also a real threat at the service line. She could either be a back-row player at the next level or a setter in a two-setter system.
#15 – Olivia Poppert, 5’10, Setter, St. Paul (uncommitted)
Poppert isn’t the most polished in terms of her pure setting skills, but she is as athletic and talented as just about any setter in the class and has an extremely high ceiling.
#16 – Maddie MacTaggart, 5’10, OH, Millard South (uncommitted)
MacTaggart has one of the most powerful arms in the class and plays much higher than her 5’10 height. She should be primed to have a monster season at Millard South.
#17 – Samantha Riggs, 5’4, Libero, Papillion-LaVista (uncommitted)
Riggs was one of the best liberos in the state a year ago as a freshman, and the fact that she was able to step right in at powerhouse Papillion-LaVista and get roughly 600 digs speaks volumes.
#18 – Erison Vonderschmitt, 6’0, Setter/RS, Falls City Sacred Heart (uncommitted)
Vonderschmitt is a tremendously smooth athlete that can and probably will play a lot of different roles on the volleyball court for Falls City Sacred Heart, but when I watch her I see a really good setter/RS at the next level.
#19 – Estella Zatechka, 5’8, Libero, Elkhorn South (uncommitted)
It really is pretty close to a virtual coin flip between Zatechka and Riggs as far as the best libero in this class. Zatechka will probably slide into the libero spot for Elkhorn South this fall and will be one of the best in the state.
#20 – Ashley Keck, 5’9, OH/DS, Kearney Catholic (uncommitted)
Keck is an extremely athletic outside for the Stars with a really good arm and lateral quickness. She could potentially be an attacker at the next level but I think she also has a future in the back row.
#21 – Bailey Helzer, 5’11, MH, Oakland-Craig (uncommitted)
Helzer can be a little overlooked playing at Oakland-Craig, where there isn’t much of a tradition of success on the volleyball court, but she’s a physical, strong and powerful middle for the Knights.
#22 – Regan Haith, 6’1, MH, Lincoln Pius X, (uncommitted)
There is a chance Haith could have a real breakout season for Lincoln Pius X, although the Thunderbolts have quite a bit of talent. An athletic middle, Haith is already touching close to 10’0.
#23 – Bianca Martinez, 6’0, MB, Omaha Central (uncommitted)
Martinez is absolutely raw, but she is an incredibly gifted athlete with a really good sense of timing as a blocker. She’s a little under the radar right now, but her potential is off the charts.
#24 – Ella Hazen, 5’8, Setter, Millard West (uncommitted)
Hazen saw a little bit of action last season as a freshman at Millard West and should now be primed to take over the setting duties for the Wildcats. She’s an accomplished and polished setter.
#25 – Madeline Kirkegaard, 6’2, MB, Hastings St. Cecilia (uncommitted)
Kirkegaard is long – quite literally – on potential. I feel like she’s taller than the 6’2 she’s listed at. Her blocking is way ahead of the rest of her game at this point, but with work she has the chance to be an impact player.
