Wauwatosa West is a Division 1 team that competes in the Greater Metro Conference alongside DSHA, Brookfield Central, Wauwatosa East, Hamilton and Germantown to name a few. This is a conference that has some of the biggest volleyball powerhouses in the state. They went 17-20 on the season last year but with the continuity of the team hope to bring that record up in 2019.
Breyonna Jackson (Class of 2020, Prep Dig Rank #132) will be an incoming senior. She is a go-to outside hitter who has been a varsity athlete since her freshman year. She has logged 446 kills, 48 blocks, 167 digs, and 53 aces in her three years on varsity. Breyonna will be key this year for consistency and leadership.
Maycee Karpfinger (Class of 2020) is another incoming senior with a lot to offer the team. This will be her third year on varsity and she excels in the back row as a defensive specialist. During her first two years on varsity, she has contributed 499 service receptions, 204 digs, 37 aces, and 161 kills. She is a dynamic athlete who can be depended on to make big plays.
Nadia Wheeler (Class of 2021, Prep Dig Rank #80) is a talented outside hitter who has been on varsity since her freshman year. She has brought in 137 kills and will look to increase that number by a significant amount this year. She is a competitive athlete that never gives up on the ball and has the skill to have a break out season this year.
Wauwatosa West has a talented team that will only grow from last year. They are in an incredibly tough conference and will have some great matches this year. They will be competing in the Brookfield East Tournament and the Britney Gigl Memorial Tournament held at Nicolet High School.
With the continuity of their entire starting lineup returning this year, the Trojans should compete at a high level and bring home some great wins this season.
