Always a bittersweet feeling with summer fading, however this means high school season is starting to ramp up.  For Iowa, the first day of practice is today and will be followed by "Meet The Team Night", scrimmages, team dinners, and plenty of memories to be made.  Before we really dive into high school volleyball, lets take a look back at the summer highlights and think about who some of the big winners were from the summer of 2019.  

Eastern Iowa Xtreme 17 Teal 

EIX 17 Teal came into the summer with some big expectations.  After narrowly missing an open bid at MEQ, this squad had their eyes on the prize when it came to nationals this year in Indianapolis.  They would not be denied. With a three set thriller in the championship match that went in favor to the athletes from EIX out of Mount Vernon, they were able to raise the championship banner.  These athletes will be heading into their high school season as ones to watch. Kacia Brown, Aliyah Carter, and Rylee Fay earned All American honors, but some other athletes to watch will be Natalie Welch, a soon to be Junior for Mount Vernon and
