The approximate number of Student-Athletes participating (32 teams x 12 player roster) this past
weekend at the Crimson Classic. Plainfield North and Plainfield Central High Schools were hosts to this
amazing field of teams.
Fun Fact number 4: 12 teams were represented on the 15 player All-Tournament Team
Eight teams which did not reach the semifinal round happen to make enough noise throughout the two
day event to land all tournament recognition.

Fun Fact number 3: Lots of close matches made the day go fast
The Tournaments third place match up was a nail biter as Minooka outdistanced Waubonsie Valley 25-
22, 23-25, 25-17. Minooka setter Zoey Seput claimed All-Tourney recognition and was joined by
Waubonsie’s senior setter Melissa Waldon, receiving All-Tourney honors.
Fun Fact number 2: Varsity isn’t just for seniors and juniors anymore
Nazareth’s sophomore pair of Gillian Grimes (L, 1st Alliance VBC) and Katie Hurta (S, 1 st Alliance VBC)
Were the youngest players to make the All-Tournament team. They left their mark as Nazareth made it
to the finals. However…
Fun Fact number 1: Carl Sandburg HS came away victorious, winning the final over Nazareth 25-21, 23-
25, 25-23. Three Eagles landed on the all tournament team, led by
MVP
