McKenna Wucherer (Prep Dig Rank #1) and Minnesota commit was truly incredible to watch this weekend. She is a go-to hitter on the team and had 78 kills throughout the weekend. She is a 6 rotation outside hitter who has a major impact on nearly every play. She was a key player in Brookfield Central’s first-place finish at the Joust this weekend.
Sophomore Maleah Howe (Prep Dig Rank #2) out of Oconomowoc came ready to play this weekend. She powered through some tough plays and played great defense. Her swings continue to gain power and she mixed up between straight power and smart shots. She leads the team in kills with 49 on the weekend.
Junior Elle Truckenbrod (Prep Dig Rank #20) from Kettle Moraine Lutheran has a lot of control with her swing and can place the ball nearly anywhere on the court. She is great in scramble plays and is very effective because she has awesome court awareness.
Paige Drezek (Prep Dig Rank #89) from DSHA has been a consistent force on both offense and defense for the Dashers. She has a strong serve and a great reach on defense and serve receive. Her great ball control makes her tough to defend in the front row as she can place the ball nearly anywhere.
Katie Winkler (Prep Dig Rank #5, Committed to Seton Hall) from East Troy is a powerful lefty six rotation right side for the Trojans. She is a junior this year and a great leader on this team. Throughout the weekend she had 85 kills, 10 aces, 7 blocks, 37 digs, and 137 service receptions. She is a powerhouse on both offense and defense and a go-to hitter for East Troy.
Senior Melanie Monaco (Prep Dig Rank #74, COmmitted to UW-Parkside) from St. Thomas More was a leader for her team throughout the weekend. She is incredibly effective in both the front and back row. She has a great read of the court and set her team up for success on offense and defense.
Junior Evvie Kaczkowski (Prep Dig Rank #56) from Lake Country Lutheran impressed with her huge vertical and fast arm swing. Blockers struggled against Evvie who powers through the ball very quickly. She is a dynamic athlete with a full arsenal of shots.
Ella Buddenhagen (Prep Dig Rank #64) is a sophomore out of Kimberly High School who has a line shot that is nearly impossible to defend. She can power through the block and power her swing down the line.
Brianna Cantrell (Prep Dig Rank #6), a sophomore from Appleton North, impressed throughout the weekend. She is incredibly fast, powerful, and consistent making her a great weapon for the Appleton North team.
Each of these athletes is so dynamic it is hard to believe that most of them still have several years left in their high school careers. These pin hitters started the season with a bang and will continue to impress throughout the season.
