The 2019 high school volleyball season is still less than a week old but there has already been need for some major changes in the rankings.

Here is a quick look at each class followed by links to each of the rankings.

In Class A, both top-ranked Papillion-LaVista and #2 Elkhorn South each passed the "eye test" and the "court test" last week/weekend. Papillion-LaVista wasn't sharp in every set while winning the Bellevue West Invitational but the Monarchs' superior depth and one-two punch of Norah Sis and Chloe Paschal on the outside are going to be very, very difficult to bring down. Elkhorn South was shaky at times in its sweep of Elkhorn, but the Storm has the block and power to really battle the Monarchs for the top spot.

Gretna jumps way up into the standing after not being ranked to start the year, thanks to its 3-1 win over Millard North on opening night. The Dragons loss to Lincoln Pius X kept them from going higher and put Pius X at #4, behind #3 Millard West, which cruised to an easy win on opening night.

In Class B, Norris and Omaha Duchesne flip-flop spots with the Titans now
