Class 3, District 1 – Dexter, MO
(4) Kennett (16-8-3) vs. (5) Fredericktown (12-13-3)
(3) Dexter (16-8-4) vs. (6) Doniphan (15-13-3)
(2) Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) (17-8-6) vs. Dexter/Doniphan Winner
(1) Perryville (23-6-2) vs. Kennett/Fredericktown winner
Who will advance: Perryville
Dark Horse: Kennett
The fun starts right away in District 1. Perryville has some big-time weapons with junior Kristen Kaempfe. The middle hitter is hitting .424 on the year with 262 kills. She also has 70 solo blocks.
Class 3, District 2 – Festus, MO
(4) DeSoto (10-15-5) vs. (5) St. Genevieve (11-14-4)
(2) Festus (19-10-2) vs. (7) Herculaneum (7-17-2)
(3) North County (15-11) vs. (6) Potosi (10-17)
(1) Central (Park Hills) (27-3) vs. DeSoto/St. Genevieve Winner
Who will advance: Central (Park Hills)
Dark Horse: Festus
Class 3, District 3 – St. Louis, MO
(4) Norte Dame (St. Louis) (9-14-1) vs. (5) Bayless (13-11)
(2) Affton (13-6-2) vs. (7) Roosevelt (2-10-1)
(3) Windsor (Imperial) (13-9-4) vs. (6) Bishop DuBourg (2-15-1)
(1) Lutheran South (12-15-3) vs. Notre Dame/Bayless Winner
Who will advance: Windsor (Imperial)
Dark Horse: Affton
This is an interesting district. Lutheran South came out of this district last season and ended up as a state-runner-up. I do not see them following the same path in 2019. Windsor has beaten Lutheran South and Affton this season.
Class 3, District 4 – St. Louis, MO
(4) Vashon (7-4) vs. (5) Confluence Prep Academy (3-14)
(2) Miller Career Academy (11-12) vs. (7) KIPP St. Louis (3-8)
(3) Lift for Life Academy (10-9-1) vs. (6) Cardinal Ritter (3-13)
(1) Rosati Kain (9-3-2) vs. Vashon/Confluence Prep Winner
Who will advance: Rosati Kain
Dark Horse: Lift for Life
Class 3, District 5 – St. Louis, MO
(4) Villa Duchesne (3-11-1) vs. (5) MICDS (5-19)
(2) Miller Career Academy (8-15-1) vs. (7) Soldan International (4-5-1)
(3) Clayton (12-7) vs. (6) Gateway (9-2)
(1) Visitation Academy (15-15-1) vs. Villa Duchesne/MICDS Winner
Who will advance: Visitation Academy
Dark Horse: Clayton
Class 3, District 6 – St. Louis, MO
(4) Jennings (13-10-1) vs. (5) Trinity Catholic (9-11-1)
(2) St. Charles (10-9-2) vs. (7) Normandy Collaborative (1-8)
(3) Duchesne (7-19-2) vs. (6) University City (5-20-3)
(1) Incarnate Word Academy (25-5-1) vs. Jennings/Trinity Catholic Winner
Who will advance: Incarnate Word
Dark Horse: St. Charles

(4) Winfield (16-10) vs. (5) St. Charles West (4-16)
(3) Orchard Farm (24-4-2) vs. (6) Wright City (12-19-1)
(2) Lutheran St. Charles (22-5-1) vs. Orchard Farm/Wright City Winner
(1) St. Dominic (23-7) vs. Winfield/St. Charles West Winner
Who will advance: St Dominic
Dark Horse: Lutheran St. Charles
St. Dominic has an excellent offensive behind outside hitter Audrey Weber. The junior leads the Crusaders with 346 kills on the year. She will need to be on top of her game for St. Dominic to get past Lutheran St. Charles or Orchard Farm. Both teams have had an excellent season and are hungry to make some noise in district play
Class 3, District 8 – Sullivan, MO
(4) Pacific (15-10-5) vs. (5) Owensville (14-13-3)
(2) St. Clair (25-3-2) vs. (7) Salem (1-24-2)
(3) Sullivan (17-11-3) vs. (6) St. James (14-12-5)
(1) St. Francis Borgia (26-4) vs. Pacific/Owensville Winner
Who will advance: St. Francis Borgia
Dark Horse: St. Clair
Borgia has some unfinished business after a disappointing 2018 state tournament campaign, where it finished third. St. Clair has had an excellent 2019 but Borgia should advance behind Louisiana-Lafayette recruit Abby Lynn. Surely the setter hopes to erase the bad memories of the 2018 state tournament and cap off her high school career with a state title.
Class 3, District 9 – Centralia, MO
(4) Chillicothe (7-16-1) vs. (5) Fulton (8-15-3)
(2) Marshall (17-8-2) vs. (7) Marshall (1-17)
(3) Mexico (8-9) vs. (6) Centralia (7-16-2)
(1) Kirksville (20-6-2) vs. Chillicothe/Fulton Winner
Who will advance: Kirksville
Dark Horse: Marshall
Class 3, District 10 – California, MO
(4) Eldon (16-13-1) vs. (5) Osage (12-11-2)
(3) Southern Boone (24-8-3) vs. (6) Capital City High (0-24-1)
(2) California (24-6-3) vs. Southern Boone/Capital City High Winner
(1) Blair Oaks (29-4) vs. Eldon/Osage Winner
Who will advance: Blair Oaks
Dark Horse: Southern Boone
This is an intriguing district. At first glance, it looks like a walk for Blair Oaks, who has blown through the season like a buzz saw. But a loss to three-seed Southern Boone this week is a reminder that nothing is automatic. In fact, Blair Oaks lost in the district final last season to California. Things sure look good, however, since the Falcons have all-stater Mariah Radmacher on its side. The outside has 327 kills and 202 digs in 69 sets this season.
RichardsonClass 3, District 11 – Marshfield, MO
(4) Ava (20-8-2) vs. (5) Willow Springs (10-11-6)
(2) Marshfield (22-7-2) vs. (7) Mountain Grove (6-16-2)
(3) Springfield Catholic (26-6-2) vs. (6) Buffalo (11-14-1)
(1) Logan-Rogersville (29-4) vs. Ava/Willow Springs Winner
Who will advance: Logan-Rogersville
Dark Horse: Springfield Catholic
Marshfield will be a tough team to get through with wins against Fatima and Blair Oaks; but the reigning Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year Birdie Hendrickson and Logan-Rogersville should be just fine. The defending state champions have beaten Marshfield twice this season (and pretty much everyone else).
Class 3, District 12 – Monett, MO
(4) Aurora (9-19-3) vs. (5) Hollister (14-14-2)
(2) Reeds Spring (16-10-3) vs. (7) Cassville (5-22)
(3) Seneca (20-10) vs. (6) Monett (9-17)
(1) Mt. Vernon (20-9-1) vs. Aurora/Hollister Winner
Who will advance: Mt. Vernon
Dark Horse: Seneca
Class 3, District 13 – Clinton, MO
(4) Harrisonville (12-15-4) vs. (5) Clinton (16-14-2)
(3) Bolivar (14-16-2) vs. (6) Lamar (16-10-1)
(2) Pleasant Hill (15-14-2) vs. Bolivar/Lamar Winner
(1) Nevada (24-4-1) vs. Harrisonville/Clinton Winner
Who will advance: Nevada
Dark Horse: Clinton
Class 3, District 14 – Kansas City, MO
(4) Ewing Marion Kauffman (6-7) vs. (5) Hogan Prep Academy (7-12-1)
(2) St. Michael the Archangel (16-9-2) vs. (7) Southeast (1-13)
(3) Notre Dame de Sion (5-18-1) vs. (6) Center (1-12-1)
(1) Pembroke Hill (17-8-4) vs. Ewing Marion Kauffman/Hogan Prep Winner
Who will advance: Pembroke Hill
Dark Horse: Notre Dame de Sion
Class 3, District 15 – Kansas City, MO
(4) Lincoln College Prep (17-4-3) vs. (5) Northeast (Kansas City) (9-9-1)
(2) St. Pius X (Kansas City) (19-6-4) vs. (7) Central Academy (3-21)
(3) Oak Grove (15-10-1) vs. (6) Cristo Rey (18-7-3)
(1) Odessa (29-0-3) vs. Lincoln College Prep/Northeast Winner
Who will advance: Odessa
Dark Horse: Oak Grove
This was not an easy call, despite Odessa’s undefeated regular season. St. Pius X middle hitter Victoria White has had a solid senior season with 216 kills. The Southern Arkansas recruit has had 32 aces on the year, as well. Odessa has some weapons of its own, however. Senior Alyssa Morris has 213 kills on the year.
Sundell – courtesy NW MissourianClass 3, District 16 – Benton, MO
(4) Lafayette (St. Joseph) (14-16) vs. (5) Benton (16-11)
(2) Excelsior Springs (14-10-1) vs. (7) Smithville (8-19-1)
(3) Savannah (19-10-3) vs. (6) Cameron (16-12-4)
(1) Maryville (25-7-1) vs. Lafayette/Benton Winner
Who will advance: Maryville
Dark Horse: Savannah
This is probably the most riveting district in Class 3. Smithville upset Maryville in 2018 in the district final. That will not happen this season. Savannah has some great wins this season, including one against the Spoofhounds. Lafayette has also defeated Maryville once this season. Anything goes in District 16; but if Maryville holds strong and counts on dominant players like Serena Sundell (the junior middle hitter who is hitting .365 with 371 kills this season) it should find itself Sectionals-bound.
