Dynamic Duo #1 –
Bree Borum (2020, 6’0, RS/S, Sterling)
Alexis Rodriguez (2021, 5’7, L, Sterling)
Bree Borum had 7 kills for the match, all off of Alexis Rodriguez’s sets. Although playing the libero position, Rodriguez is really a setter in this scheme. Her first past was always perfect and Bree would put that ball down with that big lefty swing of hers.
Dynamic Duo #2 –
Bree Borum (2020, 6’0, RS/S, Sterling)
Brooklyn Borum (2020, 6’0, OH, Sterling)
Not a misprint, the twins were bookends for Sterling, getting kills at either antenna, during the same rotation. Bree had 13 assists, 12 of them had to be to sister Brook!
Dynamic Dou Trio
Kathrine Sandt, (2023, 5’11, S, Nazareth)
Izzy Decker, (2021, 5’10, OH, Nazareth)
Kathryn Hurta, (2022, 6’0, S-OH, Nazareth)
The three combined for 16-of-22 Nazareth kills and 18 of the teams 21 sets. Hurta had 8 kills, 3 assists, 1 service ace, and a team-high 7 digs. Decker scored 8 points on 7 kills and 1 solo block. She also added 6 digs on the night. Sandt dished 15 assists and collected 2 points on 1 kill and 1 service ace.
Joliet Catholic Academy (JCA) over U-High 25-23, 25-20
Dynamic Duo #3
Emily Surin (2021, 5’11, MH, JCA)
Jillian Gray (2021, 6’0, OH, JCA)
Both players made outstanding contributions to the team’s two-set win. Surin had 5 kills, and 1 ace in the match. Gray had 7 kills, 1 ace and scooped 10 digs for the Angels.
Alayna Crabtree (2020, 6’2, OH, U-High)
