As stressful as tryouts are, once the dust settles it is always fun to see where athletes landed throughout the process. Not every club has their rosters posted yet, but for those clubs that have posted rosters, there were some shifts throughout the region.
Motion Volleyball Program (MVP) picked up powerhouse right side Kayla Lewinski (Prep Dig Rank #21, Class of 2021) who played for Sting 16 Black last year. Libero Abby Gardner (Prep Dig Rank #24, Class of 2021) and right side Rylie Gregg (Prep Dig Rank #52, Class of 2021), both of whom played for Penguins 16 Black last season, also will be playing for MVP 17 Blue for the upcoming season. These additions to this already strong team will make MVP 17’s a team to watch on a regional and national level. Motion 16 Blue’s roster includes Brooke Porter (Prep Dig Rank #40, Class of 2020) who played for USAV A1 high performance this summer and Sting 15 Black last season.
Milwaukee Sting saw a few changes to their rosters as well. Samanta Naber (Prep Dig Rank #4, Class of 2021, Committed to Marquette), who played for Sky High last season will join the 17 Gold team as will Jordan Berglin (Prep Dig Rank #17, Class of 2021), a long-time Penguin athlete. Aoife Treacy (Prep Dig Rank #43, Class of 2022), who was also a Penguin for the last several years made the 16 Gold roster. Nicole Pozorski (Prep Dig Rank #30, Class of 2020, Committed to Upper Iowa), a former Motion athlete was picked up by Sting 18 Black and will likely be a key player on their roster this season. Sydney Lewellin (Prep Dig Rank #9, Class of 2020) and Cassandra Alsum both who played for Capital last year will play on 16 Black and 16 White, respectively.
FC Elite will have Lizzie Binder (Prep Dig Rank #3, Class of 2021), who has played for Sting for several years, on their 18 Elite team which is filled with some of the best athletes in the region, despite their graduation years. Josie Halbieb (Prep Dig Rank # 14, Class of 2021), a junior from Capital Volleyball Academy will join Binder on the FC Elite 18 Elite team.
Wisconsin Ice also picked up several athletes on a handful of teams. Mady Hanse (Prep Dig Rank #68, Class of 2020) and Katie Pierce both joined Ice after playing for NW Stars the previous year. Mady will be on the 18 National team and Katie will play on 16 Purple. Kylie Struble, a former FC Elite player, will be playing on Ice’s 18 Purple team this season.
Wisconsin Juniors picked up outside hitter and former Sting athlete Sammie Sieb (Prep Dig Rank #27, Class of 2021) for their 17-1 team.
There are many athletes who have switched clubs across the state, this is just a dip into those that we currently know! Many clubs have not released their rosters yet, but in time there will be a more comprehensive look at where athletes will be playing in the coming season.
