A look at four Stock Risers from the 2019 KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament follows. Each player spotlighted is slated to be back on the court for their high school volleyball team in 2020.
Meg Gore (Greenwood, So., S): One of the top young setters in the state, Gore recorded 45 assists and 12 digs in Greenwood’s two matches played during the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament. She registered 27 assists and 12 digs as Greenwood blanked 2nd Region champion Henderson County 3-0 in the opening round.
Emma Krutsinger (Corbin, So., OH): Krutsinger was instrumental in Corbin’s victory over 16th Region title winner Rowan County in the opening round of the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament. An All-KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament selection, Krutsinger provided 10 digs, eight kills and five aces in Corbin’s opening round win.
Karly McNeil (North Oldham, Jr., DS): Delivering in multiple categories, McNeil was instrumental for North Oldham throughout the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament. McNeil registered 29 digs and 14 assists over three matches for North Oldham, which fell to eventual runner-up Mercy in the semifinals.
Abby Shadwick (Henry Clay, Jr., OH): A versatile high school volleyball payer, Shadwick posted eight kills and eight digs in Henry Clay’s victory over familiar foe West Jessamine in the first round of the KHSAA Volleyball State Tournament. Shadwick tallied five kills for Henry Clay in a loss to eventual champion Assumption in the quarterfinals.
