Clare Hilary – Elk River | 2020In their 3-0 over Forest Lake, Hilary had a big match as she recorded 19 assists, while sharing the setting duties, while collecting 18 digs to lead her team defensively. Elk River earned their first ever trip to the state tournament behind great individual effort such as this. Elk River enters the final weekend as the #7 seed and will take on #2 seed Wayzata Thursday morning at 11:00am.

Cotton once again had a complete match and was a big factor in helping Elk River advance to the their first state tournament appearance. Her versatility was on full display as she dished out 15 assists and helped her setting counterpart in leading the Elk River offense to a respectable .287 attack percentage. Additionally, she led her team offensively as she hammered home 11 kills on a .400 attack efficiency.
Sydney Pelzer – Concordia Academy | 2021Pelzer was a big factor in Concordia’s win over Academy of Holy Angels to secure their return trip to the state tournament. In the 3-0 win, Pelzer recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. She also added three block assists to lead her team in that category. The 5’9 junior outside hitter is effective in multiple situations as she can move the ball around well when in system and on tempo while remaining patient and aggressive when out of system. Her ability to help balance out Concordia’s offense will be helpful during the final weekend.

Leading her team with 19 kills and 13 digs, Fallert’s workload was significant in helping lead her team to the state tournament. As she took nearly half of her team’s swings on offense, she was productive through her 42 attacks in hitting a very respectable .333 on the evening. Concordia, the #5 seed, will play against #4 seed Watertown-Mayer in the first round on Thursday at 5:00pm.

Richards has continued to perform at a high level in the most critical moments. Against top-ranked Mayer Lutheran she recorded 17 kills without an error on a .362 attack efficiency. She also recorded 14 digs for the double-double. WEM’s first match of the state tournament begins at 3pm on Thursday as they are set to face Henning.

Taking down the top-ranked team in the state is no easy feat. However, Ready led WEM’s offense through their more critical match of the season in helping her squad advance to the state tournament. With 40 assists and 10 digs, Ready posted the double-double that included a balanced offense and a better team attack percentage than their opponents for the match. With nearly four athletes in double-figure kills, WEM’s offense did just enough to earn this tightly contested match.

Hering was big-time against Mayer Lutheran as she set the tone defensively against the Crusaders’ heavy offensive arsenal. With seven solo blocks and five block assists. Hering was a huge factor in forcing Mayer Lutheran into a low .167 attack percentage that included 32 total errors. She also recorded eight kills as she was among offensive leaders for WEM.
