Be sure to stay tuned to Prep Dig Missouri as we reveal more teams to watch in U17 and U18 before we ring in the New Year!
Club North 16-1
The Club North 15-1 team had a great National tournament in Indy in July, finishing just outside of the top 20 of the American division. The majority of that team moves up to compete with the 16-1 team in 2020 and is ready to improve upon that finish. The team includes Yanni Washington, who had an outstanding sophomore year with North Kansas City High School. She averaged 2.1 kills per set while rounding out the year with 113 digs and 30 service aces. The team also features all-district selection Lia Graham who had a standout season at libero for Plattsburg High school. The sophomore averaged 6.5 digs per set in 2019.
H2 Volleyball Academy 16 Under Armour
H2 tied for third out of 11 teams in the F16 Premier Series in Kansas City last weekend, dropping matches to MAVS KC and Club North. The momentum of that strong performance should serve the team well going into the rest of the season. The roster includes Emma Lea Benney, who had a strong sophomore campaign for Rock Bridge High School on the outside, with 184 kills and 191 digs. Jerica Jackson also had an excellent sophomore season on the outside for Hickman High School, averaging 3.1 kills per set.

The MAVS 15-1 team had a tremendous National tournament, finishing 13th in the USA division. They bring a majority of those players back to make up the 16-1 Ragland team – and bring some interesting players into the mix. That includes Madison Corf. The Liberty High School outside hitter had an outstanding sophomore season; she had 315 kills in 89 sets in helping the Blue Jays reach the Class 4 Final Four.
Rockwood Thunder Elite
ArandRockwood Thunder 15 Elite snagged a top 25 finish at Nationals last season and with the majority of the team back to play with 16 Elite in 2020, all systems look to be a go for a return to the Nationals stage. Annie Arand looks to play a big part in Elite’s success; the all-state defensive specialist helped St. Francis Borgia to a state title in 2019 while averaging four digs per set. Thunder also features Madilyn Sell, who had a nice season for Marquette High School. In her sophomore campaign, the middle hitter had 210 kills while hitting .302. Outside hitter Madison Scheer anchors the offense, coming off a fantastic year for Eureka where she led the team in kills with 235.
