The 17’s are looking for that same title, but also to lay the groundwork for high school. Let’s Look at some up and coming outside hitters to watch during the club season.

Kyla Kenney, 2021, 5’11, OH, Benet,
Adversity

Benet graduating Sophie Gregus, Kyla Kenney returns and will pick up the workload she leaves behind. She hits the ball at a high contact, able to hit over the block.
McKenzie Washington, 2021, 5’10, OH, St. Ignatius Prep, Chicago Elite VBC
With 254 kills on the season, She is definitely a player to watch. McKenzie hits the ball hard but accuracy last year was an issue. McKenzie will need to improve her consistency in her swing as her hitting percentage was below .200%.
Gwen Wolkow, 2022, 6’0, OH, Downers Grove North
She has a very long approach and swing, but Gwen also hits hard and can aim both line and cross. Along with four other upcoming juniors, they will be tough to beat.
Madi Malone, 2022, 6’0, OH, Newark,
Adversity
VBC
Only a sophomore, Madi has 473 kills on the season for the Lady Norseman. She had a great State tournament, leading Newark to their second straight IHSA 1a State title.
Kennedi Burnett, 2022, 6’0, St. Joseph-Odgen,
Leading the team with 299 kills, Kennedi led the team to the state semifinals. She also was second on the team in digs with 281.
