As we gear up for another club season, Prep Dig Missouri will preview many teams who look to make some moves and return to Nationals in 2020. We will start things off by previewing U15 teams and before the season gets going in January, we will have covered a whole lot of teams from U15 on up to U18. It is looking to be a great 2020 for Missouri club volleyball! Let’s get things rolling!
HPSTL G15 Orange
High Performance St. Louis is one of the strongest clubs in the Gateway Region. Rosters like the G15 Orange show it. Comprised of many of the G14 Orange team that last club season turned out a 21st place finish at Nationals in the Patriot Division, which was comprised of 67 teams. Among the standouts is setter Paige Seibert. She had a nice freshman season for Jefferson High School in Festus with 305 assists, 82 digs and 32 aces.
HPSTL G15 Royal
High Performance St. Louis also did well at Nationals in 2019, with the G14 Royal team wrapping up the club season with a top 30 finish in the National division. This season, the G15 Royal team features Kirstyn Loyd – who showed up for Jefferson High School in Festus in a big way last season – averaging 3.4 assists per set as a setter. She also worked in the middle, where she had 174 kills. Loyd is a solid all-around player and had 148 digs and 65 aces, as well. Her efforts earned her all-conference and all-district honors. Addison Kersting saw varsity action for St. Charles High School in 2019 and came away with 112 kills, 110 digs and 46 aces in her freshman campaign.
KC Power 15-1
Ella SwindleKC Power’s 15-1 team has a rich tradition of strong finishes at Nationals – and last season was no exception with the Power coming home with a 19th place finish in the National Division. The faces will change, but the roster this season offers some of the state’s best. All-state selection Ella Swindle from Rock Bridge High School anchors this team. The setter had a breakout first high school season, where she had 747 assists, 97 kills, 237 digs and 52 aces for the Bruins.
Missouri Juniors 15-1
Missouri Juniors is a club in central Missouri. The majority of the this year’s Junior’s 15-1 team placed in the top 20 in the 14U American Division at Nationals to round out in 2019 club season. To reach Nationals last season, the team went 11-0 in the Asics Show Me Qualifier, which brought teams from Iowa, Texas, Nebraska and Missouri. Outside Hitter Chapel Dobbs will be a force for Juniors this season, carrying momentum from a strong prep season where the freshman had 163 kills for Helias Catholic High School in Jefferson City. Outside Jordyn Butler also saw significant action for Battle High School, where she hit .339 on the year for the Spartans.
Logan JonesOzark Juniors 15 Elite
The Ozark Juniors U14 team had a tremendous 2019, finishing fourth in the National Division of the USAV Girls Junior National Championships in July. Many of those players have moved up to play with Ozark Juniors 15 Elite this season, including Logan Jones. The setter from Carl Junction finished her freshman season with 817 assists, good enough for 9.5 assists per set. Her stellar work did not go unnoticed – she snagged all-state honors for Class 1.
