HPSTL 18 Royal
High Performance St. Louis’ 17 Royal netted a top 25 finish in the Open Division at Nationals last season and carries the majority of that roster over to its 18 Royal team. The team is primarily made up from Cor Jesu (CJA) players, including the duo of Lily Rogers and Jillian Mattingly. Rogers finished her high school career with 1926 assists, 420 digs, 71 aces and 118 kills. Mattingly earned Class 4 All-State honors in 2019 despite being slowed by injury. The SLU commit hit .393 on the year behind 168 kills. Kelsey Watson is a middle blocker for the Royals and had a strong senior season for CJA with 134 kills and 35 blocks. Libero Carlie Rodgers signed with SLU and finished a stellar senior season at Lindbergh with 389 digs, 195 kills, 17 blocks and 30 aces.
Invasion 18-1
SollarsKC Invasion’s 17-1 team took home a top 25 finish at Nationals in 2019 and look to punch a ticket to Reno in 2020. The 17s roster retained a good number of players to comprise the 18-1 team, including Staley’s Molly McGurn and Harrisonville’s Brooke Miller. McGurn’s senior season with Staley had her averaging 3.5 assists per set, as well as 110 digs. Brooke Miller earned all-conference honors for Harrisonville, all while having 193 kills, 131 digs and 27 blocks. There will be new blood for Invasion’s 18s as Abby Sollars and Frankie Enna join the club. The Missouri Western commit out of Central High School in St. Joe. Enna signed with South Dakota State and the Jack Rabbits are getting a gem; the defensive specialist had 359 digs and 36 aces in her senior season.
MAVS 816 18-1
There is plenty of opportunity for unsigned players that are part of MAVS 816 18-1 team. It is led by Liberty’s Megan Schneider. The William Jewel College commit capped off her senior year at Liberty with a third place finish at state, as well as an all-state selection. The setter finished her career with just over 2000 assists. A mix of players from Missouri and Kansas, MAVS 816 also features Abby Massengill, who had 111 kills, 50 blocks, and 70 digs in the middle for Lee’s Summit West.
Rockwood Thunder 18 Elite
BeatonA few players remain from the Rockwood Thunder 17 Elite team that finished in the top 30 in Indy last season. What’s left is a ridiculously talented group of players, led by Class 4 All-State selection Allison Beaton. The middle blocker who signed with Truman State helped Lafayette (Wildwood) to a state championship game in 2019 behind 259 kills, 108 blocks and 60 digs. Handling the offense for the Thunder is Louisiana Lafayette commit Abby Lynn. The setter from St. Francis Borgia finished her prep career with 2082 assists, averaging 8.7 assists per set. Lynn also had 703 career digs, 326 kills and 93 aces. Also on the roster: Alyse Cundiff (Murray State); Karina Gall (Indiana State); Baillie Kearns (UT Martin); Alexis Williams (USF); Rebecca Zaber (Arkansas State). Taylor Guy, Jayla Holcombe and Amelia Neels round out the roster.
THR33 18-1
THR33 out of Springfield has a strong tradition in Southwest Missouri and the 18-1 team hopes to carry on that tradition with a strong 2020. With its personnel, they should make a huge splash! That roster includes Nixa’s Lexie Gregory. Gregory and the Eagles had a dream 2019, where it took home a Class 4 State championship and slayed the state’s elite in the process. Behind Gregory’s defense, THR33 will be a contender to earn itself a trip to Reno. The Central Arkansas commit grabbed all-state honors behind 533 digs, 424 serve receptions and 34 aces. Ashton Wildermuth will join Gregory on THR33 18-1. The pair were conference rivals in their prep careers but come together in 2020 for one last club season. Missouri State – West Plains got themselves a dandy in Wildermuth; the setter finished her high school career with 1756 assists, averaging nearly ten assists per set. In the middle for THR33 is Delaney Miller. She wrapped up her prep season for Buffalo hitting .352 with 578 kills, 129 blocks and 94 aces. Finally, Jayden Sanford, a Pitt State commit, earned all-district honors for Glendale behind 186 kills, 218 digs, 248 serve receptions and 24 aces.
