College Exposure:
At Prep Dig, our mission is to be a platform for visibility for all of those athletes – college bound prospects at all levels. The Top 250 Expos embody that mission and bring it to life, giving prospects at all levels an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of local college coaches as well as our team of evaluators.
The Expo is not held during an NCAA live period, so Division 1 coaches are not allowed to attend. We have more than 100 colleges that have subscribed and as writers we are in contact with coaches about players.
Quick to Catch Your Eye
There are over 100 athletes that are attending the Expo. Every time a coach walks into a talent showcase or tournament there is a certain type of player that immediately draws their attention. While success in volleyball is not predicated on how tall you are, standing above your teammates and competitors gives you a slight advantage. I have been making a genuine effort for 28 years to reach that 6 foot benchmark…with no luck.
The Top 250 Expo will have 18 athletes that stand at least 6 feet tall and reach even further. I will have no choice but to look up to them throughout the showcase.
Can’t Teach Height
Juniors
Katie Hildebrandt – Class of 2021 – 6’1″ – McFarland – Middle
Sydney Beasley – Class of 2021 – 6’1″ – Darlington – Middle/Outside
Sydney Langille – Class of 2021 – 6’1″ – Lakeside Lutheran High School – Middle
Josie Halbleib – Class of 2021 – 6’2″ – Sun Prairie – Setter
This is where my “bias” comes into play. I am a setter and it is typically the position that I key on first. They are the quarterbacks of the offense and have to know where everyone is on the court at all times. I also have been envious of every left handed setter that I have come across. Josie will walk away from high school with numerous college offers as coaches are going to have a hard time not wanting her on the court. She will be joining Brooke Mosher (Illinois) on FC Elites 18-Elite team. The offensive weapons will seem endless and will lead to a break out year for Josie.

Ally Barth – Class of 2022 – 6’0″ – Edgewood of the Sacred Heart – Middle/Opposite/Outside
Chris Fitzgerald was the first to bring attention to Ally. She was a member of the Girls Select A1 National Training Team Program. That experience alone boosted her exposure to college coaches across the country. Barth finished with nearly 150 kills for her Edgewood varsity program, just behind top prospects Ella Foti (Marquette) and Natalie Ring (Prep Dig 2022 #5). Her 56 total blocks were also 2nd on the team. Allyson is for sure one to keep an eye on during the 2020 club season as her Balance 16’s team is loaded with Madison area talent and poised to have a successful season.

Emily Honzelka – Class of 2023 – 6’2″ – Kettle Moraine Lutheran – Middle/Opposite
Monika Stevens – Class of 2023 – 6’1″ – Little Chute high school – Middle
Monika first caught our eyes when she was named to the Prep Dig Gauntlet All-Tournament team in 2019. Stevens finished 5th on the team in kills 161 while hitting an impressive .330. Hitting with that efficiency and leading the team in total blocks (81) made her a deadly weapon that Little Chute is lucky to have for another 3 years. Freshman that impact the team in this way are a rarity and the Mustangs have two with Monika and Maya Wegand. Monika will play along side Taylor Tetzlaff Taylor Tetzlaff 6'0" | OH Kaukauna | 2023 State WI at our Expo and during the club season as both are on FC Elite’s 15 White team this year. Senior Marley Johnson was the teams top middle, she will pass on the torch to Stevens who is off to a great high school career.
