Many pin hitters are also great all-around athletes and on many teams, they get the most sets. Pin hitters need to be well-conditioned, smart, and great team players. These athletes showed up for their team, time and time again, ready to play, full of energy and power, and very consistent.
Kaitlin Schulz – Class of 2023 – Impact 15 National
Kaitlin is a standout pin hitter who transitions well and puts up great hits. She has an explosive approach that starts slow and rapidly speeds up giving her huge amounts of momentum to work with on offense. She is also strong on defense and covers the court well. She was a key player in Impact’s first-place finish at the Resolution tournament last weekend.
Samantha Kempinger – Class of 2022 – Impact 16 National
Samantha has some awesome power behind her swing. When she gets up on a good set she can pound the ball, and she did throughout the weekend. She also knows when to be smart but is not super obvious in giving away her shoulders as to where she will place the ball. Samantha also brings a great energy to the court.
Claire Fischer – Class of 2022 – FVP 16 Green
Claire is a pin hitter with a lot of control. She has an arsenal of great shots up her sleeve and knows when to use them. Her ability to control the speed of her arm swing makes a huge impact on the court and brings in points for her team. Claire’s defense is also very controlled and efficient.
Lizzie Binder – Class of 2021 – FC Elite 18 Elite – Prep Dig Rank #3
Lizzie is a powerhouse hitter from literally anywhere on the court. She can pound a ball from the front row and the back. She is a great energizer for the team and is a strong blocker and passer too. Lizzie is a fun athlete to watch and her ability to play well wherever she is placed is a huge asset to this already dynamite FC Elite 18 Elite team.
Lily Schuetz – Class of 2022 – Balance 16’s – Prep Dig Rank #76
Lily was a key player for this Balance team throughout the tournament. She was ready to grind and help her team bring in wins every time she was on the court. It didn’t matter if her team had just come off of a tough match or a long break, she stepped on the court ready to play.
Each one of these athletes seeps potential and uses every opportunity on the court to improve both themselves and their teammates. They are clearly passionate about the sport of volleyball and work hard to play their best every day.
