Continue ReadingPrep Dig will be heading to the Quad Cities to take on the Tour of Iowa at the Volleyball Factory in Davenport, starting with a Showcase on Friday, January 24 from 6:00-8:00 PM. This event is open for all athletes in the Class of 2020-2023 looking to play at the next level. Prep Dig will be there with photos, videos, headshots Friday night as well as all weekend full of coverage. Here are a few prospects to take a second glance at who will be a great fit at the next level.
Kaitlyn Kolb – Waterford (WI) – Epic
Kolb blasted on to the radar at the Wisconsin Top 250 with a big left-handed swing from the right side. At 6’3 from the Class of 2021, Kolb will be one to catch the eye of coaches in attendance with the ability to set a block on the right side with a really high touch and an upside that shows a lot of promise with her overall athletic ability and high touch.

Emmy Wedgbury – Cedar Falls – CIA
GrinleyWedgburgy will have plenty of options at the next level with her ability to hold down the backcourt along with high character and academics. Wedgbury is a high IQ player who can anticipate at the libero position, put up a great second ball (solid beach players), and provide a solid contact to get the offense rolling. She has won a state title at Cedar Falls and know what its like to be part of a winning culture.
Taylor Grinley – Gilbert – CIA
Who receives those first contacts from Wedgbury? Taylor Grinley, the setter for CIA 17 Black. Grinley is a 5’10 setter who can run a variety of tempos and can also attack, keeping the other side of the net off balance. Another high IQ players with a motor for a work ethic, Grinley shows athleticism, versatility, and the ability to contribute in a variety of ways. Last season at the Iowa Regionals, with CIA down a middle, Grinley would block out of the middle and then set – again, her versatility can really change the game.
Emma Schubert – Davenport Assumption – Iowa Select
Six rotation outside hitter who is all out, all the time. Schubert has a really active arm and is quick to….everywhere. Well trained, explosive, and can pass to attack with ease, Schubert is a really solid fit at the next level with her ability to contribute out of the front and backrow. A key player for Iowa Select 17 Mizuno, Schubert also had a big high school season for Assumption and will be back for more in her Senior season in 2020.

Annabelle Costello – Davenport Assumption – Iowa Select (Title Photo)
StotlarThere have been plenty of times where the Costello to Schubert connection has resulted in big time kills on the high school and club courts. Costello is quick to the ball and can spread it to all of her hitters. She is always under control and consistent which has resulted in a lot of success for her teams at Iowa Select and Assumption.
Annie Stotlar – Bettendorf – Iowa Select
Stotlar is another Quad Cities athlete who will add to the overall depth and talent to Iowa Select 17 Mizuno. With the ability to play on either pin, Stotlar makes herself a versatile option in any rotation or situation. Big arm, positive touches, and positive body language makes her a great fit on any team.
