The Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted prospect has good court sense as a setter and can push the ball from pin to pin with good accuracy. She is at her best when her team’s ball control is in-system. She has good potential to distribute a variety of tempos across the net. With improved foot speed and quickness, as well as earlier hand position in her setting preparation, she will be more effective and efficient throughout all types of distribution opportunities while improving her deception. Another strength is that she provides good energy, hustle, and competitiveness on the court. The Northern Lights Qualifier is her next tournament action.
Taryn Tancheny – 5’10 | Opp | Club: MVA 17 Elite | Prep Dig #118
Tancheny is a 2019 Suburban East all-conference honorable mention selection. She has good ability to score from both the left and right pins by getting her feet to the ball and taking aggressive swings. Her contact point is consistently near the peak of her jump and her arm swing produces good power. She also shows good ability to make adjustments mid-point to make a smart play and choosing her moments to be more aggressive. She will become more dynamic in the arm control and ability to hit more range if she can create more torque upon her arm lift when attacking. She will next compete at the Northern Lights Qualifier from January 31-February 2.
