Off to one of the best starts among teams in the state, BRAVO 18 Black has captured back-to-back titles early in the 2020 club season.
BRAVO 18 Black is made up of the following players: Lainey Hayden (RS), Anne Goley (DS), Ella Robinson (MB/MH), Madison McCabe (OH), Sophie Doszak (L/DS), Kenley Woodyard (DS), Hallie Dickens (OH), Daisy Ritchie (MB/MH), Kendall Bloyd (S), Anslee Hopewell (DS).
Multiple high school programs are represented on the BRAVO 18 Black roster.
Determined BRAVO 18 Black shut out St. Louis Crossfire 2-0 to win the MLK Grandprix Gold Championship. BRAVO 18 Black prevailed 25-23, 25-20 in back-to-back sets in the title match against the opponent from St. Louis, which features numerous talented high school players.
On its way to capturing the MLK Grandprix title, BRAVO 18 Black notched additional wins over Alliance 18 Premier, ETHOS and Adidas Jota.
BRAVO 18 Black carried momentum over from one week before over into the MLK Grandprix. A balanced unit, BRAVO 18 Black remained on top after finishing 5-0 and winning the 17/18 division of its Winter Warm-Up one week earlier. The BRAVO-hosted Winter Warm-Up served as a season opener for numerous club volleyball teams from various divisions.
Ranked third regionally and 37th nationally, BRAVO 18 Black is among the top club volleyball teams in the state.
BRAVO 18 Black is under the direction of coaches Lauren Brown, Lisa Ross and Morgan Shipley.
Another squad from the Barren River Area Volleyball Organization, BRAVO 16 Black, won silver in the MLK Grandprix. Players Reese Payne, Kaylee Gifford, Maddie Rockrohr, Ashley Marshall, Madeline Wikberg, Natalie Smith, Alison Ward, Charli Hodges and Erika Goss make up the BRAVO 16 Black roster.
BRAVO 15 Black finished second overall in the MLK Grandprix and features Mackenzie Austin, Caroline Law, Hope Neimeier, Kennedy Hester, Gabby Adams, Darby Barnett, Lily-Kate Carver, Paige Logsdon and Kara Gipson. A talented squad, BRAVO 15 Black won the 16 Division in the Winter Warm-Up earlier in the month.
