Here are 10 16-year-old setters to watch.
Izabella Carter: A 5-11 sophomore setter, Carter is a student-athlete from Bryan Station High School in Lexington. A key player for her high school program, Carter is competing for KIVA 16 Red.
Kinsey Duncan: A sophomore setter, Duncan led Ashland in assists and helped the prep squad finish runner-up to rival Boyd County in the 64th District, dealing out 530 assists. She is competing for Northeastern Kentucky Elite Volleyball Club in her latest campaign.
Campbell Gash: A 5-8 sophomore setter, Gash is a student-athlete from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington. After registering 368 assists in her high school team’s first 30 matches and ranking as one of the squad’s top players, Gash is competing for Lexington United 66 Adidas.
Jamison Gordon: A 5-10 freshman setter, Gordon is a student-athlete from Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington. Among the most underrated high school players in Kentucky’s 11th Region, Gordon is competing for Lexington United 16 Adidas.
Meg Gore: A 5-8 sophomore setter, Gore is a student-athlete from Greenwood High School in Bowling Green. Excelling throughout the 2019 high school season, Gore logged 1, 249 assists in 41 matches for her prep team. The state’s high school leader in assists, Gore is competing for SKEVA 16 Blue.
Alice Kempf: A 5-8 sophomore setter, Kempf is a student-athlete from Sacred Heart Academy in Louisville. An experienced setter who will look to make an impact for her high school program later in the year, Kempf is competing for KIVA 16 White.
Madi Knapp: A 6-1 sophomore setter, Knapp is a student-athlete from Tates Creek High School in Lexington. Continuing to produce from her position during the current club campaign, Knapp is competing for Lexington United 66 Adidas.
Abby Powell: A 5-9 setter/opposite hitter, Powell is a student-athlete from Sacred Heart Academy. Able to contribute from multiple positions, Powell is competing for KIVA 16 White.
Brittney Tackett: A 5-5 sophomore setter/libero, Tackett is student-athlete from Simon Kenton High School in Independence. A leader for her high school team, Tackett recorded 911 assists during the 2019 prep season. Tackett is competing for NKYVC 16-2 Tide.
Ella Teeley: A 5-10 sophomore setter, Teeley is a student-athlete from Mercy Academy in Louisville. A talented young player for one of the state’s top high school programs, Teeley is competing for Union Asics 16-1.
