Victory Volleyball 17’s.Key Players:
Victory Volleyball 17-1 – Brooke Wilson – 2021 – I wrote a preview of Victory Volleyball Club a couple of months ago and was told to watch Brooke Wilson this club season. She looked good on Sunday and was instrumental in her team getting past some tough competition. She is a really quick middle with some great force behind her hits.
SWI 3rd Degree 17 White – Elizabeth Elkins Elizabeth Elkins 5'9" | OH Council Bluffs St. Albert | 2021 State IA – 2021 – Elizabeth is a really good OH with some excellent back row skills. When she is in the middle at the beginning of a rotation she is dangerous to her opposing teams. She played as a middle when she first started playing volleyball and retained those skills when she transitioned to an outside hitter. She had 2.39 KPS, a .815 serve efficiency with 46 aces, 2.16 DPS, and 19 total blocks. She plays all the way around and was vital to saving a couple of sets for her team this weekend.
Storm 17-1 – Maya Contreras – 2023 – I have watched Maya play for a couple of years now and she is another player vital to her team’s success. She is everywhere. She digs when they need her to, she hits when they need her to, she serves great, and her sets were great this past weekend as well. She is a really good player who makes it look easy. Playing for Missouri Valley High School last fall she had a .945 serve efficiency with 38 aces, 2.90 APS, 2.97 DPS, and 24 total blocks.
BVBA 17-1 – Brandi Reed – 2021 – Brandi is an OH who hits from anywhere in the front row successfully. She played really well this past weekend.
Trojan Volleyball 17-1 – Justine Woracek – 2022 – Justine is a DS that never gives up. She follows every ball to the line or beyond and gets most things off the floor that other players would miss. She seems to have great court awareness and anticipation. As a sophomore at Plattview High School last season she had 2.7 DPS.
South Central 17 Black – Cassidy Knust – 2021 – Cassidy played her last high school season at Aurora High School and had a .906 serve efficiency with 44 aces and 6.2 DPS. At the tournament this past weekend she shared the same exceptional skills with the crowd. She made my list of one to watch and one of the best liberos I had seen this weekend.
Elite 15 Riot – Delaney Burge – 2023 – Delaney was a middle I noted this weekend with really good hits, really good blocks, and really good footwork and timing. Only a sophomore, I would definitely say this is one to watch.
Elite 16 Forza – Grace Kremer – 2021 – Grace was the best middle hitter I saw at this tournament last weekend. Great blocks, great hits, being where she needed to be when she needed to be there…she was impressive.
NE One 17s Lime – Mara Otte – 2021 – Mara has 4.3 APS from her last high school season at Lincoln Lutheran High School and stood out on the court as one vital to her team’s success at this tournament.
