Realizing there is more to an athlete than a stat or a team, Prep Dig uses the lists of players to track these young ladies’ progress throughout their volleyball careers. This list does not define a player. This list recognizes those that have worked hard at a sport they love to compete in.
Always changing and evolving, Prep Dig continues to update and add to these lists. One goal is to allow readers and college coaches to get to know as many players as possible. These young ladies are amazing in their work ethic, leadership, and just being great kids.
Some movers and shakers to note in the CLASS OF 2021:
From #42 to #19 – JOSIE JAKUBOWSKI | 5’9 | OH | St. Paul | Uncommitted
Josie has been an integral part of the St. Paul team since her freshman season. With a 96-10 varsity record the last three seasons with her on the court, the 6-rotation player Jakubowski will be leading her team next season along with fellow juniors libero #28 Paige Lukasiewicz, OH Teegan Hansel, DS Camryn Morgan, and DS Noel Roan, sophomore setter Olivia Poppert, and freshman OH sister Jenna Jakubowski. St. Paul continues to reload each season under head coach Matt Koehn-Fairbanks.
Syracuse Jessica Moss looks for the tip against Battle CreekFrom #57 to #23 – JESSIE MOSS | 5’10 | OH/MH | Syracuse | Rockets VBC | Midland University
Recently committed to Midland in volleyball, this 2019 All Class Gold high jumper makes reaching above the block look easy. With an increase in shots from the front and back row, the lengthy Moss is a threat all the way around. Her support staff includes junior setter #65 Halle Wilhelm, sophomores MH sister Lindsey Moss, libero Kennedy Stanley, and OH Lily Vollertsen. In her first three years, Coach Courtney VanGroningen has compiled a 73-15 record.
From #51 to #26 – ABI WOHLGEMUTH | 5’10 | MH | Lincoln Lutheran | Uncommitted
As a middle hitter for the class C1 state champion team, Wohlgemuth stepped it up during the state tournament last season with kills at the most opportune times. Coach Sue Ziegler will look to reload with Wohlgemuth and sophomores S/RH Ashlyn DeBoer and DS Raegan Holle, and freshman OH Abby Wachal.
Ashland-Greenwood setter Saige Craven.
From #86 to #51 – SAIGE CRAVEN | 5’8 | S/OH | Ashland-Greenwood | Sunset West Perspective | Uncommitted
This A/G class of 2021 has been battling together since they were freshmen. With 1,663 career assists, Craven had the reigns of a 5-1 her freshman and sophomore seasons and last year they switched to a 6-2 with the transfer of sophomore setter Brynn Glock. Craven’s net play added depth to the Bluejays arsenal. Juniors libero #66 Alexa Edmisten, MH #83 Carly VonRentzell, OH Layne Whaley, and MH Jessica Stander prepare for their final season together with head coach Megan Rossell.
